Rufa — Restaurant in Sarasota

I spent two consecutive days (Friday-Saturday) at the Ritz Carlton Rufa Bar. The first night, I sat downstairs in the middle, the hostess and server were incredibly professional, and I was incredibly pleased with their service. However, on Saturday, when I sat on the upstairs bar balcony, I was completely disappointed. The service was terrible, the bartender was discriminatory, and I was met with a cheap server who treated me based on the number of chairs. I finished my glass and paid for it, but it still hadn't been cleared away. I told the customers around me, "They asked me about other requests several times, and my chair was ignored. We had a wonderful time celebrating our one-year anniversary here. The atmosphere was beautiful, especially with the stunning sunset view. The drinks were excellent, and while a few food items could have been better, the overall experience was still very enjoyable. I highly recommend this place. Our server, Sam, was outstanding—he took the time to explain the menu thoroughly and made sure we were well accommodated throughout the evening. Sooo, Rufa was a perfect spot to chill while waiting for the check-in line at the Ritz to die down. We came while the weather was just right, and the bar’s view of the marina made it even better.

Our bartender was super sweet and helpful with the menu. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious—we just grabbed a few appetizers to hold us over, and they hit the spot. If you’re staying at the hotel, I’d definitely recommend giving it a try!
