Sarasota Garden Club — Attraction in Sarasota

We wanted a nice intimate garden wedding where we could have an outside ceremony but an inside reception, because Florida weather. We also wanted to be able to enjoy the gardens as we particularly wanted a garden wedding and for the gardens to be part of the decor. Well the Sarasota Garden Club was perfect for us. It is small and intimate but beautiful. Their reception room has three glass walls that look upon the gardens and the doors and the doors open to make the inside outside garden experience seamless. It was just perfect for our Spring wedding in March. Carol was easy to work with and always happy to answer our questions. The price was great, less than some of the larger gardens in the area but just as beautiful. We had our ceremony on the tropical garden patio which is a nice fenced off private area. The butterfly gardens in from is what I fell in love with though more than anything. The day before we were able to decorate and set up and the garden club also had members out there gardening and beautifying the garden so it was in tip top shape for our wedding. I am not sure if it was coincidental or not but it made us feel special. All of our guests loved the venue and commented on how beautiful it was. What an absolute hidden gem. My husband and I chose the Sarasota Garden Club for our intimate wedding this April. We couldn't have been happier. The gardens were in full bloom with birds and butterflies flying all around. Adorable garden statues, fountains, arches and benches line the property, creating countless special and shaded areas to sit and enjoy the surroundings. We were married under the gorgeous oak tree on the main lawn, enjoyed cocktails, games and canapés on the patio and rejoiced in the A/C indoors for the dinner and reception. The sprawling Great Room boasts floor to ceiling windows and sliding doors which flow seamlessly outdoors. In 2012 we hosted a wedding welcoming party here at the Sarasota Garden Club as most of our guests were from out of the area. At that time I was not in to writing reviews. Yes it has been 10 years but whenever I think of our daughter’s wedding the event at this garden club brings up some of my best memories of that weekend. The Sarasota Garden Club was a hidden gem that is cozy, fun and private to the point that you are not aware of the outside world. Yet the foliage surrounding the edges of the building and garden make you feel like you are in your own beautiful world. I cannot tell you in words how magical it was!!
