🎯 My hubby and I found this place while visiting Sarasota. We love this place! 🥰 This is a real hidden gem! From the moment we entered the restaurant the experience was AMAZING! Ciro the owner and chef make us feel like royalty! He welcomed us and explained how they make the handmade pasta, the area in Italy where they are from, etc. Ciro is very welcoming, happy, charming. Same as his son Tito. 😊 We ordered calamari for entree and it was cooked to perfection. They brought us homemade italian bread and oh boy... was so good that we forgot our low carb diet...😆 and we ate double portion. For the main course we ordered the specualty of the day ( 4 to choose from). My hubby ordered shrimp Fetuchini and I ordered chicken in lemon sauce with pasta. Both dishes were outstanding! The mix of herbs and flavors made each dish exquisite! We accompany the dinner with wine and finished the meal with a heavenly dessert made to perfection. Honestly our time there was precious and Ciro even put two hearts on our dessert. While we dine, Ciro was singing Italian songs, making the experience a total package!. Love this place and we wish we live closer to Vino Vino. We recomend this 💯 %.
Fyi. This is a very small unique and a famous place. Please RSVP, we are happy we did and we went there as soon they opened, if we did not RSVP, we would not had been able to eat there, because later on that evening, a lady had RSVP the whole place for her 60...
Read moreAlright, let's cut to the chase. The place was Vino Vino. Italian. My wife was with me. We were on our last night of the operation (vacation), so they better be good. This one was. Best Italian I've ever had, and I've eaten in places most people only see in intelligence briefings. The chef, some passionate Italian guy, came out. Not in a showy way, but like he actually gave a damn about what he was putting on the table. He walked through the menu, the restaurant's story. Made sense. Food with a backstory usually tastes better. They've got a wine list that could choke a horse – extensive, they call it. I call it options, and options are always good. I went with the Amatriciana Pugliese. It had a fresh taste, the kind that reminds you you're alive. Followed it up with Pasticciotti Solentino. Don't ask me to pronounce it twice, just know it was damn good. My wife, she went for a Green Mixed Salad – clean, fresh. Then the Orecchiette. She said it was perfect. Finished it with some Creambulé. She was happy, which means I was happy.
Bottom line: Vino Vino delivered. Good food, good wine list, passionate chef. In my line of work, you learn to appreciate the good things. This was one of them. If you're looking for quality, this is it. Everything is made fresh daily. Be sure to make a reservation....
Read moreVino-Vino is a gem. Situated in a small strip center off Siesta Key Drive with a total of 9 tables we had an excellent dining experience. Chiro the Italian born owner-chef brings a slice of Italian Apulia food and hospitality to Sarasota. Be patient here. It’s about the experience.
Before the meal he did a little presentation on where the food is from and their homemade pastas, followed by the specials of the evening.
They have a nice selection of wines and we started off with a Pinot Grigio and a super Tuscan. For an appetizer, we split the mussels which came in a red sauce. The sauce was thick and hardy, and we almost asked for a to go box with the sauce and homemade focaccia bread to take home.
My partner ordered the rigatoni special and I ordered the snapper puttanesca special. Both issues came out, warm and well prepared. Deep flavor in both and a nice portion. I generally don’t like any toppings on my fish, but the puttanesca was outstanding.
For dessert we decided to try the tiramisu either his mother’s or grandmother’s recipe. Excellent also served in a wine glass.
Chiro, the owner is the star of the show here. His warm welcoming and engaging nature along with excellent brings a true slice of Italy...
