I was a frequent customer at the Anna Maria Island location and wanted to try the "new" Sarasota location. Walked in last night and Mark recognized me and said hello. It was nice that he remembered me from AMI location.
We were seated promptly for our 6pm reservation. Our waiter was not very attentive to detail and was very slow. I had to ask other waiters for things because he did not come by our table very often. We had dishes piling up from our 1st two courses because no bussed the table.
They missed some protocol things that a higher end restaurant should provide: he did not let me taste the wine before decanting it, we ordered caviar and he did not bring out an oyster spoon to serve the caviar and didn't bring the crostini until we asked. For an appetizer with a $195 price, that is just not acceptable. I ordered another cocktail to enjoy with the caviar, the caviar arrived and my drink came about 15 minutes later.
The lobster bisque tasted like lobster but there was no lobster chucks, it was runny, and luke warm. The blue cheese potato side was also luke warm. They also had the wrong toppings on the wrong steak and we just swapped them at the table. The strawberry shortcake was dry. The coffee was also luke warm.
Dinner took 3 hours and was incredibly slow.
On the way out I mentioned this to Mark and his attitude was dismissive. That is not what i would expect for such a "high end" restaurant and for a repeat customer that generates very large tickets.
I won't be going back....they lost a valuable...

While he was totality inattentive. My wifes food got sent back twice. She never ate. I had to run around the restaurant to pay for this travesty of a meal. The assistant mgr. Took my wifes fish off the bill and gave us an unmarked gift card. Keep that weak gesture. The valet was missing in action. I had to get keys and get my own car. I hope the owners do something about the way things are run. Or this Place won't be running long. Read moreWhen I order lamb chops and they come to the table overcooked and they bring a second order and the lamb chops are raw they offer to remove them from the bill. Never offered a different meal and by then it was way too late to get one anyway so I had no dinner. What really was unacceptable was the owner. He had come over to the table to presumably thank us for our business and inquire about our experience. He should have known what happened in the kitchen. If he did know, shame on him for not making an attempt to make things right. If he didn't know then perhaps he should just stay home at night. I won't return. There are too many great restaurants...
