Edit: I'm upping my rating for this Arby's. The $5 after 5 coupon forced my hand, and I've been there a couple times. The Roast Beef was thin and great both times and the staff and management have been accommodating.
Had another good visit today. Thin sliced meat and friendly service. 4 for $10 ain't 5 for $5, but you take what you can get.
Old Review:
There are two cardinal sins when you visit any Arby's. 1) Skimpy on giving Arby's sauce (or out of it). 2) The roast beef is like thick cut bacon. I have been to this Arby's quite a few times, and though it's been ok, every time, I've had at least one issue. But today, oh today... They broke rule #2.
And this was a pickup, so. typically only gonna see this when you're long gone!!!
The real secret to the tender roast beef, you may be surprised, is not actually the slow roasting for hours. It's cutting it so thin it barely stays together. It's the toilet paper of meats. When it's thick, it's like eating a fruit leather, except meat flavor.
1.83 mm is completely unacceptable. That's .072 inches!!! That wasn't even the thickest slice!
AND, each sandwich was a mess. How are you supposed to keep Arby's sauce nestled in there when a flap of beef slides out the back like a wide, flat rubber band?
Never again. I've been going to Arby's since I could talk. And Roast Beef sandwiches are all that matters. The signature item.
Why? Gods of the...
Read moreThe few times I've gone here, I've ordered a classic roast beef sandwich with a slice of real cheddar cheese (not processed cheese) and fries. That's pretty easy, right? Just put a slice of cheese on your regular sandwich! But every single time, they get it wrong.
Once they gave me a classic roast beef, but they used the nasty processed cheese. This time, they just gave me a beef and cheddar sandwich, which has a different, not-as-good bun, a gross sauce, and the nasty processed cheddar.
The fries were also not good--they tasted like they had been fried in really old oil. Almost rancid.
We ordered at 11:15 pm on our way home, then went back as soon as we discovered the error with the sandwich. We got there at 11:50 (online on Arby's site, and on Google maps which was apparently "updated by the business one week ago," it says this location closes at midnight), but they were closed--they had changed their hours with stickers to say they closed at 11 (which is weird because we ordered after 11). Arby's needs to update their hours if they're going to close earlier. So I updated the Google maps listing so no one else will be tricked.
So. I didn't get a sandwich OR fries, and I am done...
Read moreIf I could give minus stars I would give this place a minus 5! A few days ago I stopped by because I really wanted to try the new rib sandwich. The onion rings in the sandwich looked a month old, there were some strips of meat and a few marble sized dark things I assumed were little bits of over cooked meat. I ate it any way—BIG MISTAKE!!! I got home and after about an hour I began to feel really uneasy. I thought ugh, I sure don’t feel well so went to bed. I woke up around 1 AM and ran to the bathroom where I puked my insides out! This went on for three days! It’s been five days and I’m finally able to hold something down. Eat there at your own risk! As I think back to that fateful day, I don’t think I saw any adults on site, just a bunch of teenagers. Clearly they were not sophisticated enough to know when foods they work with are past their prime and unsafe to serve. I don’t think I could ever eat at Arby’s again, DEFINITELY NOT AT THIS PLACE AT LEAST! I think I am off fast food for the foreseeable future. The only good news is I lost almost 10 pounds over this past week, but it is an awful, awful way to lose weight. I feel lucky to have...
