DO NOT USE CATERING SERVICES
Where to begin. We called and placed a catering order 5 days prior to our baby shower. When placing the order we asked if they would deliver and they told us the delivery fee was $20. From the restaurant to our venue was literally less than 5 miles. Once we brought up that $20 was a large price with the very short distance the guy on the phone then told us he would charge me $2… I felt like they were trying to rip me off… So the day of the baby shower came and the shower started at 12p and food was supposed to be delivered at 1145a. 1155a came around and I called the restaurant to see where our food was and they explained that their cook didn’t see the ticket and that it would be another 10 minutes and offered us 20% off. I decided to go to the restaurant myself. I told them I would not pay more than 50% due to the fact I had 52 guests at my venue with no food. After a chat with a cook (because no manager was at the restaurant) he called the owner and they agreed to the 50%. 1239p I am still waiting for my food at the restaurant. Which is way past the 10 minutes they had told me. I asked another gentleman to check my food and it started being brought out to me at 1247p, an hour and 2 minutes past the expected delivery. When I get the food to my venue none of the rolls had been cut for sandwiches. So myself and my pregnant wife used plastic ware to cut all the rolls for our guests. Then they only provided us with 22 dressings for salads for 52 guests. The chicken tasted bland with zero seasoning, I’m sure due to them rushing it. This was a total flop. I’m hoping the owner reaches out and makes things right....
Read moreSuper Bowl Night Fumble! We ordered takeout from Maria's on Super Bowl Sunday, and it was one of THE worst takeout experiences we have ever had. We ordered a large pizza, an Italian beef sandwich, an order of fries, an order of pasta with marinara sauce, and a salad. We'd ordered takeout from there a couple of other times, and their food had always been either "good" or "okay". Therefore, we were expecting edible food. The first clue that this was the wrong night to order food from there was that several employees were standing near the pizza counter watching the game. There was only one guy actually working. He was boxing a pizza. When we got home, we opened our pizza and discovered that all of the ingredients looked as if they had slid to one side. If that wasn't enough, the pizza was all rolled up at the edges, as if the person who boxed it grabbed the wrong size box and had to fold the pizza to fit into it. That was far from the only problem. They gave us two mini-loaves of bread, and both were so stale that you couldn't even cut into them with a knife. The french fries were absolutely disgusting. They were limp, cold, greasy, and flavorless. When we served the pizza ,we saw the bottom of it was wet with grease. Finally, my husband bit into his Italian beef sandwich and told us that it was totally bland. It was like a regular roast beef sandwich with no seasoning. This order was a complete disappointment. The staff at Maria's is lazy, inept, and clearly not well supervised. We'll...
Read moreTime to vent! It still bothers me! Went to Maria’s in Morris for Easter brunch. What a disaster that was. First we had reservations for 7 at noon. So did two other party’s of 7 for the same time. That’s like triple booking a doctor in a 15 minute slot. We were seated at 12:40! There was one lady bussing tables and our waitress was whoever we stopped. The prime rib and lamb was like leather. The ham was cold. When my husband went (to what they called their carving station) for ham, there was none and the so called chef serving, had the nerve to ask him if he wanted a piece of pineapple that was on the ham that wasn’t there! I agree with the other reviewer. The waffles were frozen Eggo waffles and the desserts looked like they were bought at Costco or Sam’s club. $32 a person (do the math for 7) for Eggo frozen waffles and store bought, cold, and poor food is outrageous!!! I actually told our waitress to not charge me cuz I’m not eating. Here’s what got me, the manager or whoever came to our table at 1:15 (remember we were seated 40 mins later then our reservation) and told us we needed to leave cuz our time was up and they needed our table! That did it for me! Next year will be the Bolingbrook golf course or I will cook myself. We would have been better off at McDonald’s with hot, eatable food and NO TIME LIMIT!! My first time there...
