Sue's Gallery Cafe — Restaurant in Saratoga

I came here to meet up with a friend, and it turned out to be a great spot. The place is cozy and everything feels well thought out.

We asked the staff for a recommendation and tried the charcoal coffee. It was rich, not too sweet, and really smooth. The flavor was unique and easy to enjoy. The staff were super friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better.

I also tried matcha granola for the first time in my life. I had it hot, and it was surprisingly good. Warm, earthy, and just the right texture. They also have a lot of beautifully presented pastries, and I asked for something not too sweet just the right balance.

There are other light breakfast options too, like wakota toast and some vegan dishes, which all tasted great and felt healthy.

The only downside is that it gets really crowded on weekends. We had to wait quite a while for a seat, and after we sat down, others were already waiting for our table. There’s a good amount of seating quiet corners for working, a central area, and a little outdoor patio but still, weekends are busy.

It was also a bit noisy outside because of a bunch of motorcyclists riding through the usually quiet town. Definitely not the café’s fault, just one of those “welcome to America” moments.

Sue's Gallery Café is such a cute and minimalist cafe that has great drinks and pastries. It's a small cafe that has two floors of seating, plus seating outdoors. It's a perfect place to come and relax, talk with friends, or study at.

《Parking》 In my experience, I usually parked on the street or park blocks away closer to the downtown part of Saratoga where they have parking lots behind the businesses.

《Food & Drinks》 I usually order their Matcha latte, both cold and hot drinks. If you order lattes hot, they make such pretty latte art! I wish I could create such art like they do. My second time coming here, I ordered their cream puffs. They didn't put it out on display, so I was afraid they ran out since it's usually a hit or a miss to get. Apparently some people will buy out their whole supply for the day, making them run out. I was lucky that day and got both Vanilla and Matcha flavored cream puffs!! Both were filled nicely with their cream inside, with sprinkled powder on top. They're ($3.75) each cream puff, and in decent size. I couldn't believe how perfect they were, in taste and in appearance!! I will be...

I've been coming here for years, and the experience is always worth the trip!

Sue's Gallery is one of the few places you can enjoy your coffee while enjoying the beautiful artwork from the owner. I've purchased two mugs from here in the past and recently added one of their pitchers to my collection.

I've had a few drinks here over the year and they've all been solid: Sparkling yuzu: great if you're not feeling coffee! Vanilla latte: I get mine with oatmilk. It's a great level of sweetness. Matcha latte: pretty standard Aztec hot chocolate: a unique taste of hot chocolate! I got this the first time I came here and was pleasantly surprised.

It seems since COVID they've blocked off their second floor seating, but the gallery seating continues to be open.

The team is super patient and helpful while you make your selection, be sure to ask them any questions you have; in my experience, they've all super knowledgeable. :)

The street parking situation can be super volatile. Some days, it's a hellscape, other days it's a walk in the park....
