Well unfortunately I won’t be able to give The Trident the review I was hoping to. Although we were very excited to try this establishment, the service and response from management was absolutely disheartening. We arrived at 3:50 and initially were off to a great start, with a warm welcome from the host and our server. We ordered the Shishito peppers, the baked oysters, crab deviled eggs, and a bowl of clam chowder to start along with two drinks: the pear martini and the Irish coffee. We sat for about an hour with no one attending to us, or checking on us, so we got up and ask for help. Another server came over, whose name we regretfully didn’t get. He put in another drink order, and sent our server over to us. We placed our order for the mushroom risotto and the classic Oscar steak prepared medium. When the plates arrived they looked great, but once we cut into the steak it was clear it was over cooked with little to no pink at all. It was now 5:40ish. Given that we’d sat so long and had an issue with the order we asked for the manager to bring it to his attention. We weren’t expecting anything other than sharing our experience for feedback and getting a remade medium steak. Instead we were met with micro-aggressions and dismissals. Rick’s disposition was immediately unwelcoming, as if he was bothered to have to come out at all and said “I don’t know what to tell you, it looks perfect to me” when we said we’re accustomed to a medium steak having more of a pink center instead of being cooked all the way through he said “I’m not going to argue with you” which is a dog whistle to black women who travel often and encounter a myriad of different types of people. Some who have preconceived notions that black women are aggressive, argumentative, and complain to get accommodations. Rick took our plate, and said he would bring another, but after the interaction we weren’t comfortable eating it. At no point did he acknowledge or validate our concern, or apologize for the inconvenience, service or experience . When I went to find Rick to let him now what we’d decided, he led with “everyone in the kitchen agrees the steak was prepared perfectly so I’m scared to bring you all anything else” so I let him know that we decided to just pay for the food received and no longer wanted the steak. It goes without saying that we won’t be back despite the beautiful views, but I do hope that this review helps other travelers passing through, especially ones who may self identify similarly to us. To the sever who came over and helped us after we sat there unattended to for over an hour, we would like to say thank you for the care you showed us while we were there, although things happened quickly near the end and we weren’t able to get your name we really appreciated you! Thank you for acknowledging our experience, asking us to come back, and ensuring us that you’d take care of...

After the reviews from Trident, decided to visit with friends to go for lunch but the entry with the owner was very unpleasant and rude. We will NOT come back again. Place was not even half full and asked for a table outside. It was reserved for customers who never showed up so the view is good if you get a proper table. We accidentally walked onto the terrace as there was no one to escort us and we got an unfriendly response from the owner. If you get lied upon in your face with an angry look, my appetite is gone. Several people entered after we were seated near the entrance in an empty indoor part of the restaurant so we overheard they don’t have a reservation and get asked if they would like to sit outside. Regarding the food and drinks, the wine was very nice, service was average, the calamari starter was ok but fried and slightly over served with grilled paprika. The grilled seafood and salmon were ok. Tuna poke bowl was tasty. The location of the place is good, it offers a nice view from outside a plus is he free bicycle parking. Prices are slightly high for the quality and service standard. If the restaurant owner would have been honest, a reasonable table with view offered which was available but not offered cause we accidentally walked onto the terrace which didn’t suit him, a 4 star rating would have been the result but we are not coming back again. There is more great places nearby and next door. Lesson learned

P.s. if it wasn’t the owner then perhaps the GM who seems to respond to the majority of comments. If the GM is the bald headed gentleman then he should know better as he is the person referred to in this review. After mentioning our dissatisfaction, our credit cards were simply thrown to us after signing the bill by a short lady who was responsible for payments. It is sad to see this sort of behavior hence the no return to Trident. No need for replies from mister Enos, case closed and hope all of you have a better experience. Have...

I love this place so much. I’ve been to the Trident many times and the service and food has always been amazing. Last night we had my daughters 40th birthday here and I can’t even put into words how wonderful everything was. From talking to Cindy when I made the reservation to the Valet parking attendant who was so nice given I had 2 dogs in the car (plus $6/hr on a Friday night is so worth it) and that was b4 we even walked in. The hostess let me see the outdoor table and make sure it was perfect (placing the heaters in the right spots since we had a newborn baby with us and placing the high chair for the toddler) and she was happy to take the cake and candles I brought and said they’d handle everything. We had an amazing view from our table and the weather (with the heaters given its December) was nothing short of perfection. Sean, our server and his team couldn’t have been better. So friendly and knowledgeable and made great suggestions. They even went the extra mile to make sure my 21 month old grandson got what he needed to stay busy with French Fries and kid things. We had 2 types of oysters, both were so good but the raw oysters were to die for!!! Everyone’s entrees were perfect and they brought the birthday cake out at the perfect time. I can’t thank the staff at The Trident enough for making my daughters 40th birthday unforgettable. I’ve always loved this place but now I’m just so over the moon about it I had to write this! Ya it’s not cheap to eat here, but it’s Sausalito and you’re getting the BEST of the BEST in ambience, food and service. Oh and I didn’t even mention that the outside deck is dog friendly! Thank you again to the Trident team for everything!! You guys are truly...

Service was ridiculously slow. 30 minutes for the appetizers and clam chowder, followed by an extra 1 hour for the main course and 30 minutes again for the dessert, a single slice of cake. The waitress was not welcoming despite us being polite all time. Part of the food was generally good, including the crab. Although, the seafood brochette came in undercooked, specially the salmon and the white fish were raw. The same plate had a giant slab of rice like someone was just rushing over. We also ordered a Classic Steak Oscar. I asked medium but it came overcooked (no rose/pink parts). It was warm but damped in a very cold sauce. The mashed potatoes side were just potatoes, 0 seasoning. Pretty bad for a $70 plate and we got no discount or anything even if I politely reported the issue. The deviled eggs were ok’ish but with an excessive amount of paprika over it. We got the seafood brochette initially charged but they accepted when I told I was not going to pay for it (we returned the plate). Although I got a $11 surcharge on the bill for no specific reason. The valet was very convenient and the only part I didn’t have anything to complain. At some point I tried to order an Arnold Palmer and the restaurant was out of lemonade and we were told it would take over 30 mins if I really wanted one. The restaurant was crowded but it was far from full. I went there with my family to celebrate my wife’s birthday and we felt it was not worth the expensive experience. Despite the other empty tables, ours didn’t have any amazing view.
