I was excited to try this spot, as it is right off the highway while passing Savannah. However, I was disappointed. The atmosphere seems nice when you initially walk in, but it is on the “old” side. When I looked at the menu I thought the prices were rather high, but that at those prices the food should be good, right? Nope. I ordered the fish and chips, and while it was eatable, it tasted very rubbery and like it had been previously frozen. Fish and chips is pretty simple when you’re near the coast, and this was a sad example. The fries also tasted aged. In addition, the waiter had an attitude when we first arrived, and after he brought us our food, he forgot to bring us all silverware. So we sat there with our food and no way to eat it. On top of that, when we asked a passing by waitress for silverware, she also responded rudely. She brought us silverware, we said thank you, and she did not respond or say a word. She set it down, turned around, and walked away. I also heard her complaining to another employee when she was walking by shortly after that. All that to say, if you’re an older and enjoy an old style decorated American cuisine restaurant, and don’t care about your food being reheated, then this place is for you. As for me, I won’t be returning. I prefer my fish and chips to be fresh, and my wait staff to be polite. At the same time, it was not the worst experience I’ve ever had.

Wanted to enjoy but nope. Pro….sort of…. 1. Tuna sashimi dinner was tasty but not as described in menu (1 Star). Identical to appetizer except for pricing. Not served as menu described. John told his last customer that ordered this also ordered a steak and potatoes as well with it. Entree on the menu that was expensive and not as advertised. Cons. 1. Truly, the service was abysmal. When you not only you tell the server that it was OK but that you’re still hungry and you’re going to go for a pizza and they tell you “Sounds Good” instead of offering anything additional to eat, that sir, is“anti-good”. Thank you, John. I’m waiting for my Domino’s order now. 2. The atmosphere reminded me of a Steak and Ale from 25 years ago that has been reopened but without management. Dark, dank and dusty. 3. Remember the bread at Steak and Ale? I did see a review that was pleased with how the rolls/bread were at Sam Sneed’s. I cannot review as no bread was made available to us. Friday night at 7 PM. 4. Worst of all was the Manager not at all interested in visiting our table. He didn’t mind chatting though with the staff though. Troy Best sorry we’re not happy with your restaurant and you didn’t care enough to ask. Conclusion. Thought it would be a nice change from the chain restaurants, however Texas Roadhouse it appears we will be visiting you tomorrow.

The food was good however our server was great when she was around but sometime she would go missing for a bit, maybe she had other tables in a different section. We did have a party of 10 so I understand it taking a little longer for things but it felt like the drinks & appetizers took forever to get and we ordered as soon as we sat down. My dad had to go to the bar and show them where the liquor he ordered for his drink was because he was told they didn't have it. When we did get our drinks 2 people ordered guinness beers and the foam was already settled(the pouring of this is a process and should take sometime to get to this point) so they had been sitting at the bar for awhile. We had to ask for waters twice before a select few got them and I think water should have been brought to the whole table once we sat. My niece needed another fork and we went to the hostess desk and asked for one and was told no our server would have to get one they weren't going to give us another set of utensils, which was crazy when they literally had them sitting right there. All and all it was good dinner just a few hiccups.

Went to Sam Snead's on 09/22/2023, my birthday and the service and food was subpar at best. I ordered my usual, shrimp savannah and the shrimp was charred and dry. Therefore, I did not even touch the plate. I brought it to the server's attention and he said I needed to talk to the manager. The manager came over to the table and asked what was wrong. I expressed to her that the shrimp was charred, over cooked and dry. She proceeded to tell me that nothing was wrong with it as that is how it always comes out of the kitchen. I explained to her that I am a pretty much a regular there and have never been served this dish this way. She again reiterated that in fact that is how it is served. She then proceeds to tell me that she had to take the plate to the chef for his review and determination as to whether it was overcooked or not. I then asked her as a manger, why does the chef get to make the determination as to whether it was cooked properly or not. She then says it is at both of their discretion. When she took the plate from me, she stated, ooh the shrimp are dry. She comes back to the table and asks me if my complaint was that it was charred. I told her it was charred, dry and over cooked. She then asked me if I would like it to be remade. I told her no (as I did not want to be at the mercy of the chef). Mind you, we ordered the same dish to go for someone else could not make it. The shrimp for that order were cooked fine, (go figure) since she argued me that the subpar plate I received was in fact correct. The bill was approximately $195.00, my plate not included, I expected so much more from the manager and chef/cook. Not that they care, but I will NEVER step foot in this establishment again. The only nice part about this visit, was the young lady at the front desk who checked us in. She was friendly, pleasant, professional and apologetic about how the meal was served when it did not even have anything to do with it. The manager on the other hand, whispered in the lowest voice possible, thank you and good night as we exited. ...

I had the catch of the day...food was good!..the server on the other hand was not...she forgot the caramel butter for my gf steak..butter came after gf was half way done with her steak..never asked if wanted it melted or not..just a thoughtful gesture would w been nice..because the butter was as tough as nails..it spread on like toothpaste...she never came to our table to ask if we needed anything..we had the water glasses sitting at tables edge to show her we were low..she never came to refill our glasses..but she went to both tables that were behind us(my side and gf side) to refill there glasses...let me go back because she never asked if we needed anything..I was very polite and raised my hand for her attention when she butter was not presented with her meal....fast forward..she never came back around...it made us feel less worthy...so I raised my hand again..this time for water since she never came back to our table...when I was looking at her walk to our table...she made a facial expression as if I were pissing her off and she didn't really want to serve me..she rolled her eyes and sulked her teeth..I was looking directly at her!!!..this is how I know!...we felt unworthy and to top it off..it was our 4 yr anniversary and we came there to celebrate because that was our very first date..so we wanted to rekindle that special moment...the server honestly ruined that experience...I don't know what irritated her about waiting our table but we were very dissatisfied and my gf is not one to ever speak up about bad service it she agreed and noticed the server lack of effort and care when it came to our service and experience at sam snead...I'm sure this isn't a common thing at this restaurant as our first time was a good experience...one of our main reasons for coming back..maybe next time...

We waited 2 hours for food. Party of 25. One person wanted to cancel their food before we were served. That request was denied. Server told my brother she "wasnt sure what restuarant he had been to before but you can't cancel food after it is been ordered." At that point, some of us as a unit wanted to walk out. After all, by that time; all we had were our drinks in front of us. Which took 30+ minutes for refills. We were there celebrating a retirement and didn't want to upset the honoree. So we stayed. Food was atrocious. Bread was served directly before the meals. They bought out 6 rolls for 10 people per table. The rolls were never replenished, even after I requested more. Portions were not good for the money paid. Spinach dip might have been edible had the outsourced chips had not be saturated in salt. Server bought out a few additional rolls to eat with the dip. Hardly an adequate substitution. I'll just have to eat a Spinach sandwich now, Popeye. Quesadilla was served hot but the chicken inside was very dry. Management was __? Not present, in stealth mode, incognito, invisible, or failing to take care of their guests. No one stopped by to ask if everything was good, bad, or indifferent. They simply didn't care. And to top it off we paid 18% gratuity pp. If you're forced to pay it, you should get decent service. 2 servers to take orders but left only 1 server to take care of the entire party?? As a former food service worker, I understand being understaffed and overworked. Neither were the issue, there were PLENTY of red shirts floating around. When YOU know better, you SHOULD do better. If that party was too much for you to handle, you should have refused the reservation. We planned this months ahead of time AND confirmed the day before. Do...
