The food was really good. The atmosphere was what I come to expect for a Texas Roadhouse, except the floors were really sticky.
The Low rating is because of the service. I saved up to spend money on this meal, and in this economy that can be daunting on its own. It was my mother's birthday. We didn't want a big deal about it. But decent service could have been the bare minimum. I understand it was a busy Sunday, but we were there for over an hour and the server checked on us literally only twice. We were seated without utensils, and was not greeted by the waitress until we were already sitting there for 15 minutes, already halfway through the bread and parched. We ordered our entire meal, they were out of potatoes, and the waitress told us we could not order the Tater Skin appetizer because of this. I asked for the salads out first. We asked her to check on the Tater Skins. They could do it. We didn't see her again until A DIFFERENT waitress brought out our main meals. Salads and entrees. Still no utensils. We asked the different waitress to get our waitress and she came out with the forks, but said NOTHING. This really bothered me. It was the lack of accountability or like she was scared and we were acting like Karen's. We really weren't. I said, okay nevermind about the appetizer. Guess it was busy. At that point, I'm thinking let's just eat. The food was great. Which is good because even though we ordered a steak, its not like anyone asked if it was cooked right. She didn't ask if we needed anything, sauces, refills, anything. She was really only around because she was dealing with the other table who had been sitting there longer than us and was served after us. Clearly because we weren't wanted there. Remember it was HER BIRTHDAY. Anyway, we get boxed up and I'm thinking okay well the food was good and she atleast offered us boxes. I go to pay, and she never took the appetizer off. So I sat there for another 15 minutes, waiting on her to come back to take this off so I can pay! Two tables were say next to us while we waited. And all she did was split the check without that on it, so after I paid it still looked like I chose not to pay for that item. The attitude was very why couldn't you have done that? Well, it's not my responsibility to pay for something I didn't get and if I had just chose to not pay for that I could have looked like I was stealing. A manager never came to check on tables the entire time we were there. Which says a lot. Thats why they can get away with their servers acting like children, because they are not being held responsible.
So tldr:Food is good. Service is piss poor. Management is...
Read moreIf I could give less than 1 star, I would. This was the most disappointing experience that I have ever had at any Texas Roadhouse. My family and I came to dine and were sat at our table at about 8pm. Everything was fine at first, but once we placed our order our server completely disappeared. After about 20 minutes or so, we got our salads but had never been given any utensils. We hadn't seen our server in a while, so my wife went up front to ask the hosts, who just told her to go check the bins (which were empty). She came back to the table and we waited another 10-15 minutes before our server finally walked by and grabbed some silverware for us. We ate the salad and continued to wait for our food, but after another 30 minutes, we decided we were ready to go and asked to speak to a manager, because at this point the wait had just gotten ridiculous. As soon as we asked for a manager, the server came out with our food. We had already been there for over an hour at this point. Our server decided this would be a good time to smart off to us about asking for a manager and how none of this was her fault, and just got super rude with us. Then when the manager showed up, she was not helpful at all. She also had a bad attitude and just said she was sorry and made up lame excuses for why our food took so long. We asked her why so many tables around ours had been seated after ours, and had already eaten and left by the time we finally got our food, and she just said "She didn't know, all she can do is say sorry". We ended up leaving the food there and just picked up food on the way home. Our kids were so tired and had still not had dinner, but I will not be spending my money somewhere that doesn't prioritize providing a good experience for their customers. Overall, the wait times were crazy and the staff was very...
Read moreDined tonight at the Montgomery Xrds location, party of 3. We’ve patroned TX Roadhouse for 15+ years with great experiences almost every time. Tonight however, our experience was less than average. Our server was nice enough and seemed to accommodate our needs to the best of her ability. We ordered an app sampler, kid’s meal, ribs and chx combo, and smothered chicken. All came in a timely manner. Unfortunately, the smothered chx came w/no cheese, but no biggie. I requested my server to just have the kitchen place some cheese on top and place in salamander as it’s suppose to be prepared. The excuses received were: this is the way it comes, it may take too long b/c the kitchen is busy, and I may have ordered the wrong one because there’s 2 smothered chx dishes on the menu (my regular dish of 10+ years). My server left the plate on table to check w/the kitchen to “see what they could do.” About 10 min later, came back with a bowl of melted cheese (HUH???). I told our server I don’t want a bowl of melted cheese and to please make the proper adjustments, still being understanding. Plate was taken, my family finished their dishes after maybe 20 min. And we prepare our table to leave. Upon packing up, the dish finally comes back out and we boxed it up and paid and tipped 20%. Our server seemed to be very short and irritated as though we were a nuisance, but we were still very kind throughout the wxperience (Husband manages a restaurant and I served tables for 12 years so we get it). Needless to say, I’ll think twice about visiting this location. We love this restaurant and will just chalk it up to just a less than great experience this time around, but hopefully the next time we return, we’ll receive the type of service all descent folks should when spending their hard earned dollars treating themselves...
