David's Burrito Express — Restaurant in Schaumburg Township

When I first started visiting this place everyone was so attentive to the customers needs/requests. Seems like they were so eager to please everyone. I even gave them 5 stars. But during the last few months customer service has declined dramatically. Eating in is ridiculous. You seat yourself & wait for what seems like an eternity for someone to even acknowledge that you're there. They are too busy taking phone orders & handling pick up orders. At one point I was so aggravated that we weren't being taken care of that I actually called their phone to place our order. We had been sitting at the table for 10 minutes & no one even came out. It makes me feel like now that you've established your business, you don't feel the need to treat customers the way you did in the beginning. It's a shame because we highly recommended your business to so many people. I've been telling my husband that we won't be going here anymore because the wait time drove me up the walls & yesterday was the last straw. After coming out of work exhausted my husband wanted something quick. So Taco Tuesday was the plan. I drove there on my way home & ordered steak tacos with cilantro & onions only & a side of beans to go. Woman taking my order repeated the correct order. Got my order & went home. Opened the container and the tacos just had steak on them...no cilantro, no onions, they were bare. Checked the plastic bag thinking for some odd reason the cilantro & onion were packed separately, but didn't find anything. Normally I check my orders before leaving, but like I said, I was exhausted & just trying to get home. I was so angry. I called & spoke to the same woman that took my order & explained the situation. She knew who I was & what I ordered. She put me on hold. When she got back on the phone, I was told that the cook said he had put the cilantro & onion on the tacos. She told me that all they could do was have me pick up some cilantro & onion. I asked her if she wanted me to send her a picture because somebody is lying! I told her I'm too tired from work & am not driving all the way back there to pick up cilantro & onion. Again, she repeated "That's all we can do." I hung up the phone even more frustrated. You have lost good customers. We have learned our lesson & won't be going back. Best believe we will be warning our friends. You could have offered a credit or something instead of saying that's all you could do. Horrible business. Pathetic.

We’ve been ordering from this restaurant for almost 5-6 years. They have THE BEST seasoned chicken I have ever had.

Everything has been perfect up until a month ago or so. Our orders have been wrong multiple times which never used to happen, but the quality of the food almost makes up for it for us.

They changed the recipe of one of their green salsa which used to have a very fresh, almost cilantro and lime flavor, and now it is spicy and thick and no longer compliments the chicken like it used to.

I’ll be honest, the restaurant itself is great, the new salsa isn’t the worst, but I am very sad they no longer make the salsa they used to. They could carry both but they don’t . The red salsa they give is mild and has more of a hefty flavor to it and the only other option now for green salsa is spicy. They do have a dipping salsa that is red and delightful that isn’t spicy, but even that doesn’t compliment the chicken as the old salsa used to. They also no longer have a side of chips on the DoorDash menu which makes me sad because I ordered it with every order.

It’s not the end of the world, but the old green salsa was one of my favorite parts of the restaurant.

I’m giving 3 stars only because I always ordered the same thing and my lovely order is no longer available. Yes, it’s personal because I’m very sad about it lol. That salsa was amazing and for it to not exist anymore makes ordering from here less appealing. Especially since the chicken is SOMETIMES dry and dowsing the tacos in the mild green salsa made the absolutely to die for.

Food quality is phenomenal. Even though I don’t love them as much as I used to because my tacos just aren’t the same without the old green salsa and they have messed up my order a lot recently, they’re still my favorite restaurant for tacos and burritos.

I would change my review to 5 stars if they brought back their old menu items.

They’re typically really good about accommodating requests, so for now I’m keeping the order mistakes as not a big deal and assuming they might...

I called the restaurant before going to pick up food, and the lady who talked to me over the phone was very unprofessional, she seemed angry, harsh and stiff in the way she talks, then hanged up the phone without saying goodbye or anything...Their men's restroom didn't have hot water (and it was a very cold winter), the door knob of the restroom's door didn't work properly so I had a child open the door on me while I am in the restroom!!! Also, when I tried to exit the restroom, the door would't open without some struggle...They don't have paper napkins in the restroom and the electric dryer is very weak...It will take 10 minutes to...
