qp greek food with a kick — Restaurant in Schaumburg Township

Wholly unpretentious eatery. Inside it's not too large or fancy but totally relaxed, clean and comfortable. Fun, modern Greek music played while dining in.

Service has been wonderful and meeting the cooks and owner to compliment them for the food was a privilege.

And so far that food, tried over numerous visits, has been spot on. It includes each of the following, listed from most to least personal fav for our future dining reference:

01 calamari, a must-have appetizer 02 crispy broasted chicken, be it plain or Greek style 03 egg lemon soup 04 skordalia, flavored better than a more expensive Glenview Greek restaurant, but without enough pita triangles for scooping 05 Greek coffee with and without sugar 06 chicken kabobs 07 Greek oven roasted potatoes 08 spinach pie 09 Greek yogurt with honey and walnuts 10 bougatsa (served warm; the 1st 2/3 of its syllables rhyme with those of "Fugazi") 11 baklava 12 loukoumades 13 gyros 14 feta fries 15 Greek sausage, which, true to Greek style, is quite fatty and thus may not be to one's taste 16 Greek pizza with gyro meat topping

Yup. We've tried a lot. And nothing was burnt or overpowering. Only one from the list could be improved: Greek pizza with gyro meat topping could use tangier, more liberally applied feta; a crispy crust (although the current one is Greek style); and gyro baked into it, as it seemed liberally placed atop the pizza as an afterthought. (Does Greek pizza still put its meat toppings under its cheese? It did decades ago.)

Looking forward to adding Greek meatballs and saganaki to the list, we easily say that qp has proven...

I stopped at this restaurante for the second time an awful experience. One day I only bought the feta fries, taste ok. But when they put my food to go, the just throw a little paper bag inside a groceries plastic bag. Needless to say all the fries inside the plastic bag. I called the manager to let them know what was going on. Never seeing this before it was nasty your food lost In a plastic bag. The manager said “I am sorry they spilled out of the small bag “ the server did nothing wrong that they way we do it here😳 Second time -( I don’t even know why I tried🙄😞) , I guess it is on my way) this second time I purchased a chicken - an overpriced chicken sandwich. Anyway after I paid they took 15 min ! To get me my regular chicekn sandwich, breading was sooo salted I couldn’t even finish it. All that time I could see the servers inside chatting laughing like there is no costumers. In fact there was no costumers parking lot nearly with car at lunch time. I asked the girl who gave me my food “wow, why did you take that long ?” She laughed yes she laughed and said “sorry” laughing. I called the manager “Vicky” who said I am sorry at this time we are really busy. Well if you are that busy I don’t know why all the workers are not working and stop the chatting and laughing. I usually don’t write reviews but I don't think none of them cate for the money the owner has invested in that place. Nor the manager nor anyone else. Never...

We have been here many many times. We have spread the word to all our friends and have sent them tons of business. Never a problem ! I heard from a friend of ours that they have gone downhill and him and his coworkers do not order from them anymore . He said the chicken he got wasn’t done and they have gotten cheap! I had a procedure today and all I wanted was a spinach pie and wings from here . My husband called and put the order in. No need for a menu bc we get the same thing . When the total comes to $60, that sounds about right for the food we got. Not so much, he got all the way home (40min drive) to find they didn’t put the spinach pie in !!! We were pissed off and called them. We noticed they didn’t put it on the bill . Made matters worse seeing 8 wing ($15) alone , pork skewers, a side of veggies, and a side of feta sauce was $60?!? Unreal !!! After my husband expressed his anger, the first girl said, “ok” ?!? Wtf ? Ok??? Well, THAT made matters even worse ! What is wrong w people that they think that’s a great answer ? He asked for the manager told her the girl who took the order repeated his order and spinach pie was the first thing he ordered ! I really don’t think she believed him, he repeated himself several times . Lastly she offered a free spinach pie next time we come. Unfortunately, that will be never ! I will stick to wing stop they can keep their $15 wings...
