Gregorys Coffee — Restaurant in Schaumburg Township

I’ll start with the good -

The atmosphere and inside has that cute coffee shop-esque feeling like you’re not inside of a mall. We really enjoyed the cold brew drinks, I’ll rate them below: Nu Brew (4 stars) Salted Caramel Cold Brew (5 stars) Iced Love Affair (2 stars)

The drinks were on the sweeter side so if you don’t like that it may not be for you, but for a yummy sweet iced coffee, I’d get it again.

Drinks came out super fast which was nice.

Now for the not so good- We’ve been there multiple times and each time it didn’t really feel like the people working liked customers much. They weren’t intentionally rude or anything - they just didn’t seem welcoming or friendly taking orders or answering questions. And in the scenario that I explain below I thought they would be more helpful, but it just turned out to be really awkward.

Food was so-so. If you’re super hungry as you’re getting coffee sure order something, but I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s worth it.

The cups are filled with a crazy amount of ice. Like to the brim so you have a hard time mixing it once a straw is in. The cups are also weirdly REALLY flimsy (or maybe it was the packed ice), but when I went to put the top back on after having to wipe the sides so it wouldn’t leak out, the cup just broke down the middle and collapsed into itself and coffee went everywhere plus it was a large so lots of coffee everywhere - my small purse was soaked, my sweater, jeans were soaked and my shoes and a big puddle on the table and on the floor it was kind of insane. Gregorys coming to the Woodfield Mall in Illinois is the singular reason I now go to the mall 😂. I have often wondered why the place needed 3 Starbucks, and hated that there wasn't better competition offerings. Thankfully there is now, and since it's opening just a couple of months ago, I have used every chance to go and enjoy!

The coffee is SO superb!, the options are exact what ISNT offered at other places, and the originality in recipes blow me away! Please keep it up, knowing I will be swinging by to give my support every chance I get!

Oh, and please consider opening another in the same area (I live in Elk Grove Village), maybe with a drive thru 😄.

I really REALLY can't wait for another stand alone to open up - with a drive thru. Heh. Love the coffee! Need to be able to get there before work in the morning.

When are you getting a stand alone/drive thru in the area (Schaumburg/Arlington HTS/Elk Grove village Illinois)? Seriously, this needs to happen. Its simply prohibitive for most to keep going to a mall to get their Gregory's fix. I could and WOULD be there every single morning on my way to work, but the mall doesn't even open early enough to do this.

I ordered the “pineapple ginger” refresher and tasted no pineapple or ginger. I then asked what it was made from because it tasted like passionfruit and it had these black seeds in it. They said it’s “made from pineapple and ginger” in a sarcastic chipper tone. I replied it just tastes like passionfruit and was then told its passionfruit with a hint of pineapple and ginger. I’m not sure why it’s called pineapple and ginger, it doesn’t take anything like either of those. The seeds are off putting, like eating a sunflower seed in your drink but slightly smaller. I dislike passionfruit so had the menu of said passion fruit anywhere on it I wouldn’t have ordered it.
