After three of my friends highly recommended Shake Shack because of their experience in Las Vegas Nevada, I decided to visit the location in Schaumburg IL on Friday Sept. 4th, 2020 for lunch . We were received by a friendly team member who took our order. Yes, all items are paid individually and are a high end price. My expectations at their price are high too. We were instructed to go to our table of preference and advised that there is green dots on the tables. As we selected a table with a green dot and my son was sitting an associate came to us yelling that we need to move to another table (at that time I am standing and reading the note at the green dot that stated that the table can't ne use because social distancing) the green color mislead us usually red means stop or warning. After that I got text message to pick up our food. The portions were not as expected.
1 ea. SmokeShack® Single Cheeseburger topped with Niman Ranch applewood smoked bacon, chopped cherry peppers, ShackSauce™. Size of a regular fast food restaurant cheeseburger, cherry peppers are pickled and overpowered the flavor of the burger, it would be better with less pickling.
1 ea. Chick'n Shack Antibiotic-free, crispy chicken breast with lettuce, pickles, and buttermilk herb mayo on a non-GMO Martin’s Potato Roll. Same size of a fast food chicken sandwich, my son described as good but too small or simple for the price.
2 ea. Cheese Fries Topped with our Shack-made cheese sauce, a special blend of cheddar and American cheese. Excellent flavor, we love crinkle fries, the cheese sauce was good and we asked for the spicy ones, size still small for the price but flavor made that up.
We drank soda, maybe will try something else if we decide to visit again, still debating on that because of the experience.
Another incident that was disappointing was that another associate approached our table in the middle of our meal and asked if he could remove the tray with some of our trash, we agree and accidentally knocked my soda and it was all over the table. He was in shock and then very apologetic offered another drink as he was trying to clean the table. And out of the sudden same guy that was yelling at us earlier comes asking what happened I have to ask him quietly to "calm down , there is other customers, your associate accidentally spilled my soda , he is taking care of that". We got moved to another table and to myself it was painful to see his actitud while he was giving instructions to the poor kid on how to clean the mess.
I paid around $30.00 for two meals . Still have the chance to go back, same location and see how other items like beer, wine shakes and hotdogs compare. Clean place good decor, nice outside dining area ( we ate inside it was too hot outside). It was just one...
Read moreThis review is a dining party of four. Three adults one child. I went to the one and Woodfield mall in Schaumburg. There was parking available. When we walked in there was only one couple ahead of us. They were reading the menu and the cashier asked if we could be helped. We were not ready so we looked at the menu. We looked at the menu ahead of time online and the prices were different. The prices in house were more expensive than the prices online. I was very disappointed in that. I have no problem paying for a good burger. But I do have a problem for paying Too much for a good burger. I had a cheeseburger no bacon nothing special, my spouse had a shake stack which I think is a cheeseburger with bacon. The other person had the portobello mushroom and beef patty burger. And the child's had chicken nuggets. One pomegranate lemonade and one regular lemonade and two waters. Our bill was almost $52 $51 and change. Now for three burgers two fries and a chicken nuggets and two lemonades $51 and change is too much. I'm sad to say that I did notice that there was no table cleaning in between service. Nothing was wiped down people just came and sat down. That is just gross. One couple did stand at a table and the husband went and asked for someone to wipe their table down for them. I did not go into the bathrooms. After we placed our order she told us to sit down I had to give her my cell phone number and she had to send me a text to let me know that my food was ready and I had to go back up to the counter to pick it up. I do want to say that the burgers were very very good. But then again I like the burgers at Wendy's too. I can't rate the shakes because I did not have one. The overall cleanliness besides the non-wiping down the tables in between services, the restaurant was clean. There weren't any 6 ft distancing though. Overall I like the food but I will not be back. Too much buck for the non-bang
**UPDATE: : 02-23-22 When I first wrote this post four months ago I had received a response from the manager of the store. I was told if I can remember correctly, that I was to get in touch with him for some sort of compensation for my bad experience. I thought that was fantastic. Unfortunately I lost the opportunity for compensation due to the fact that when I went back to get the information to contact him the post was deleted. Therefore he was reneging on what he said. So now I have dropped it down to two stars. The food was good, but apparently management doesn't care if they follow through to keep a customer, or better yet earn a customer....
Read moreShake shack in Schaumburg is the worst location I have been to. Food was barely warm, our cheese fries had maybe a half a tablespoon of cold cheese on them. The Spicy chicken sandwich was about the size of a slider. The staff were all very nice, but the product I paid for was poor at best. Save your cash and go to anyone of the other burger places in the area. Even McDonald’s has better food. It’s a shame because I have been to shake shake 3 or 4 times before at other locations, this place is a massive disappointment, won’t be going back. Lunch for 2 with nothing extra costs us over $35 Food was cold, portions were small, food was just thrown in the tray. Terrible. Message to the owner. Now is not a good time to be turning customers off due to cold poorly prepared food. Either you need better training or employees with better attitudes, who understand people pay a lot of money to eat in your restaurant, and to be served what I was given is embarrassing on your part. If what I was given is the shake shack standard I won’t be back to any shack shack every. Way to drop to level of expectation. I’m a nurse, it cost me over 1 hour of my labor to pay for your terrible food, why would I ever come to your restaurant again? If I made min wage it would have cost me over 3 to 4 hours of my pay to pay for your crummy food. Put that in perspective if you actually care...
