Read morePeace Be With You! Buenos Dias, Shalom, & Onya Ha-Say-Yo. I stopped by this Jack in the Box early in the morning while waiting for AutoZone across the street to open—I needed coolant for my car. I went in wearing my Islamic attire—a white thobe, the traditional long garment worn by Muslim men—just hoping to get a cup of ice water. I initially thought I had money in my account, but realized I didn’t. I explained that to Jose, the cashier, and asked politely for just a cup of water—twice.
Instead of simply getting the water, he went to the back and brought out David, the manager. David came out and asked if I needed help, and I let him know I didn’t understand why he was brought out—I had only asked for water. David responded with kindness and said, “I don’t know why he didn’t just get you the cup,” and explained that Jose is hard of hearing and an older gentleman, so he may have misunderstood. I appreciated David’s calm and respectful handling of the situation.
That said, when I first approached Jose, I did feel like I received a look that wasn’t very welcoming. Given my attire, I couldn’t help but wonder if that played a part. Later, I peacefully asked Jose if I had offended him, and he told me no—he was just busy unloading a truck. I appreciated the honest conversation and left it at that.
Compliment: Much respect to David for his professionalism, kind attitude, and for taking time to talk with me despite working the overnight shift. And appreciation to Jose as well—for continuing to work hard behind the scenes, even while short-staffed.
Room for Improvement: A little more care in how customers are greeted—especially those dressed differently—can go a long way. Even when busy, taking a second to show simple courtesy can change someone’s whole experience.
Thanks again to both gentlemen for holding it down early...
Read moreThis Jack in the Box location is the only one for Scottsdale it is a old decrepit building . I've gone there many times because it's the only one within 5 miles of me. I've gone sometimes late at night and gotten an excuse at the drive-thru menu that they're not open now that they are closed because their manager is sick and in the bathroom. one time I got a story that they're only taking mobile app orders. I went to the mobile app and their store wasn't accepting mobile apps on the app itself. I've gone there and been told I have to go to the one on Curry rd. I've gone there at lunch time and been told there's no one here to cook burgers we only have fried food. they under portion everything they serve and it's lukewarm not hot. I don't think I've ever gotten a hot taco or hot french fries from this location. I've written corporate and gotten no response. they don't care about their emails and their customer concerns. I told them they needed to push the reset button get a new manager a new crew and remodel the store it is disgraceful looking building. I will not be using this Jack in the Box and I will not oftenly go as far as Curry Road and Rural Rd. one other time I went I recall now they told me the gas company had turned off their gas they didn't pay their bill and that the restaurant was closed. I also included that in my email to corporate never got any response at all very sad. Sad company.... now the menu prices are extremely high you can spend $30 for two people easy you could go to a steak restaurant for that price unbelievable increase in menu prices. Update the prices have gone Sky High. you're going to spend $30 for two dinners. As of April 11th 2024. I'll go have a steak dinner at a steakhouse. The store front logo sign is dark off at night every night all night. They can't do...
