💕 Review for Catch 21 Seafood- Steakhouse – Scranton, PA

At first, from the outside, I wasn’t impressed—I was like, “Ugh, this is my birthday, and I want somewhere really swanky and special.” But the moment I walked in, the atmosphere completely changed my mind.

The host greeted me, though she was busy at the moment, which I completely understand. Later, she made up for it by being incredibly attentive throughout my visit. I was the only customer at the time, and her service made me feel truly valued.

I ordered the Caesar salad, which was fantastic, followed by the prime rib with bone, macaroni and cheese, and broccoli. I like my steak cooked perfectly well, and not charred—once again, they did not disappoint. My steak was perfect and bathed in butter. To my surprise, it also came with a side of crispy, perfectly fried onion rings. The bread presentation with the butter design was beautiful, too. Throughout the meal, the staff checked in consistently to make sure everything was perfect.

I wish I had gotten the hostess’s name—her service was outstanding. I spent over $100, but for my birthday treat, it was worth every penny. Compliments to the chef and the entire staff for an exceptional dining experience.

To top it off, they surprised me with a carrot cake on a special birthday plate after learning it was my birthday. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I left more than satisfied and will definitely...

We had a great experience here! The food was fresh & light. My husband and I shared the smoked trout appetizer (put it on the bread they bring you WITH the butter and the spinach garnish!) and it was delicious.

I had the crab bisque soup special, which was a giant bowl, but very good, and the Chilean Sea Bass over veggies. Excellent. I LOVED the veggies especially.

My husband had the caesar salad and the Red Snapper with lemon sauce and sauteed spinach on special. I thought my fish needed a little sauce (luckily my husband's meal had plenty to spare) but overall everything was light & delicious.

The service - our own server, the other woman working the same area, and the food runner - was excellent! Friendly, efficient, and professional. Smiles all around!

The decor is...weird. Confused maybe? I appreciated that it wasn't so on-the-nose with fishing nets and bouys and the like (you can go to Cooper's for that kitsch) but the giant fruit and veggie cross-section prints threw us for a loop and made us giggle. If you're wondering what the black & white cross-section of a banana looks like, look no further than this restaurant for some reason lol!

We really enjoyed Catch 21 and will be back! My husband wants to try the steak...

food was amazing! Manager and the gentleman who was taking care of our plates / running the food were very kind. We unfortunately had a terrible waitress. She didn’t tell us her name at the beginning (which is whatever) and immediately gave off a vibe as if we were an inconvenience to her. Didn’t tell us the special for the night and just asked if we wanted anything besides water. We saw her wait on other tables and WOW, what a difference ! Told them the specials for the night, was nice to them and even showed them the special Valentine’s Day dessert tray! For us, none of that. Didn’t even check up on us once and didn’t even refill the water. But she did that for every other table, EXCEPT us. If you’re a younger couple wanting a nice dinner out, I don’t recommend or at least hope you don’t have the same experience as us. She even took long to give us the check as we sat there with empty plates for a long time. The table runner had to tell her to get the check for us. We’ve never been treated like that ever. Will not be returning. I don’t understand how someone could act so rude to us and be nice to...
