I came into Pappas pizza for the first time picking up pizza for a client of mine. Around 6PM today. Having previously heard nothing but great things about the place I looked forward to the experience. There were 2 girls at the counter keeping the customers moving briskly I was impressed by that. They both seemed able to keep calm in busy settings. However, when it was my turn at the register I was greeted by a blank stare until I spoke up and gave my order number. She rang me up and proceeded to take the payment. My clients card had a slight crack in it so the machine wouldn't read it. She displayed frustration as if this was something that had been happening to her all day long. Getting no help from the girl standing next to her She finally had to call on the assistance of another woman behind her making sandwiches. Who seemed annoyed that she was being pulled away from her current task as she threw the pepper shaker to the side and came over to help. After trying 2 different registers to ring me up properly it finally was completed and the young girl not only tossed the card back with the receipt she said have a good day as she walked away from the counter and suggested going to do something else. Mind you there were more customers behind me waiting to be taken care of. Now as a customer I can understand busy days can bring different sides to different people and not everyone are able to keep up the friendly facade at work when under pressure BUT there's absolutely NO EXCUSE for just being flat out rude. I should never feel like I'm bothering the employees because me coming in to spend money is the main reason they are there in the first place. The place looked very nice and was clearly well maintained daily but for that to be the first time I ever walked through the door and that was the greeting and farewell I received I can guarantee I will never even make the attempt again. To add insult to injury the pizza was not all it was cracked up to be. I do hope the owner gets more friendly and CUSTOMER SERVICE trained individuals at that front counter dealing with the very reason they are open for business in the first place .. THEIR CUSTOMERS. I won't bash the place but I will give my honest review, needs a complete makeover on customer service and a little less grease on the pizza and it would be an all out pleasant place...
Read moreWe visited Pizza by Pappa’s for the first time while we were in the area buying a new truck, and we’re so glad we found this gem online! The reviews didn’t lie—this place is fantastic.
First impressions were great: the restaurant was spotless, with not a single crumb on the tables, which immediately stood out to us. We ordered the margarita pizza and a cheesesteak grinder, and both were excellent. The margarita pizza was delicious, and I especially loved the crust on the deep dish—it was perfectly cooked and flavorful. But the real star of the meal was the cheesesteak grinder—probably one of the best I’ve ever had, and as true foodies, we’ve tried quite a few!
The owner (at least I assume it was him) came over during our meal to check in and see how everything was going. You could tell he’s incredibly passionate about his business and genuinely excited about his menu. He was attentive and made the experience feel personal, which we really appreciated.
All in all, it was a great lunch. We wish we lived closer than an hour away, but who knows—we might just make the trip again because it was that good! Highly recommend Pizza by Pappa’s to anyone...
Read moreWe have been dining here since the 1980’s. New owners changed their buns for their grinders. Let me tell you it was a huge disappointment to the degree that we most likely will not go back. Ordered a steak and cheese grinder, the bun was so skinny you could barely fit anything in it. Not sure how those buns work with tuna or lunch meat grinders with all the lettuce, tomato and onion in them. The difference was in the portion size and taste of bun. New buns make half the size of the original. Same length but width and girth of bun was considerable smaller. For the price it definitely was not worth it. Used to feed two people, now only feeds one for same price. Original buns way better, in my opinion it ruins the nostalgia of the place as well. If it’s not broken, don’t fix it! Quality for price went downhill. On a positive note the service and atmosphere was...
