Hinze's BBQ & Catering — Restaurant in Sealy

Previously I had given this place 5 stars because of the food as well as the service until today! I ordered a baked potato with 2 meats and the works. I was going to share the potato with my significant other and we both like extra bbq sauce on our potatoe from this establishment. I asked if I could buy a small container of sauce. The staff member replied," I put 2 small ones in with your order." I replied, " That's fine but I want to purchase extra sauce." Staff member again replied," I put 2 small containers in your order." I told her if 2 small containers were enough then I wouldn't be trying to buy EXTRA. Staff member along with her coworker stated that they were NOT ALLOWED to put more than 2 containers in an order. I stated that's fine but I still want more, so I proceeded to fill small containers used for in house customers and requested lids. Staff acted like I tried to steal their kid!! I told them that I was the customer and I would pay for the extra small containers of sauce... OMG they had a damn cow all over 5 small cups of sauce that I kept trying to pay for. One staff member said that I had gotten carried away. I told her to ring up the damn sauce. It was 85 cents!! I gave her a dollar & told her to keep the damn change which she did with the quickness! ALL OF THIS UNNECESSARY BS OVER 5 EXTRA SMALL CUPS OF SAUCE THAT I KEPT TRYING TO PAY FOR FROM THE VERY START!! I wont be going back & I certainly won't be driving any more of my passengers to this place either... My company brings in bus loads of passengers very often to this place but that will change after I share my experience with...

Was a bit disappointed by this place. We stopped in from out of town as our daughter's team had just finished competing in the town's yearly summer tournaments. The brisket was actually cooked decently. It had average smoky flavor (pecan) and was tender enough. However the portion size was disappointing. I ordered the 2 meat plate: brisket and ribs. Upon ordering the brisket, I asked for half lean and half moist with bark & fat intact, as I prefer. Instead I received all fatty -- very little at that. When I returned my plate and informed them that I requested lean meat as well, the elderly lady slicing loudly declared "well I can add the lean slices, but I'm going to have to remove some of the moist slices". Wow. It was bad enough that the meat portion was small to begin with. But I didn't argue it..I simply went with the flow. I had to eat leftovers off my daughter's corn dog plate -- which was actually the best meal on the table(!) -- in order to fill up. The ribs were exceptional, at best. My wife ordered a hamburger which was also exceptional. Pinto beans were good. And the potato salad was average. The locals swear by Heinz, however I will not be returning to this place solely due to the small bbq portions. Especially considering that I dropped $12...

Hinze's BBQ is the best I have ever tasted and try to schedule my trip through Sealy, headed to other locations, at meal time, do this several times a month. Just recently I have came to a conclusion about the service. Almost everytime I find myself thinking they are slow to deliver our order, ok many people must be inside and the employees are trying there best to keep up. Until the other day, I stop by, there was one to two cars in the parking lot and maybe a car at he window. I went inside to order, seeing only a couple of people sitting at one table. I place my order, well to my surprise the employees were more enaged in talking about something. Then the meat was cut, I ordered a 1/4 lb. pork and 1/4 lb. brisket. They talked a little more, then my order stayed on the table where they we cutting in the container alittle longer and I finely got my order. Keep in mind there was hardly any customers there and it took me just as long as when I was there with more customers. So, if you like BBQ go by and get the best, if you don't have time or in need of good customer service then you best be looking somewhere else.... P.S. This is the Sealy location, not Wharton or...
