Western Sizzlin Steak House — Restaurant in Searcy

We are 6 states into an 8 state road trip and have eaten in many establishments thus far. Tonight we wandered into this restaurant.

I travel with a Service Dog and this place gets a 4 paw salute. No issues at all. Really makes me feel welcome.

You go up to the counter and place your order. We both got the buffet with drinks. They are in the midst of remodeling, and the cashier let us know where we could sit. She was very nice and friendly.

We took our drinks and tray to a table behind the buffet. Mom filled her plate first, then I followed suit. I got back to the table and mom is raving about the fried liver. Not my thing at.all...but she was impressed. I tried some meat loaf, taters and gravy. Delicious!! I also got some chicken pot pie..perfect flakey crust and creamy chickeny goodness.

This whole time, Tricia (sp?) Our waitress was a rock star! I never had to ask for a refill and she whisked the used plates away in a timely manner. I spoke to some of the cook staff and they were all extremely pleasant and knowlegable about their dishes. It's been very rare for us to find such outstanding service on this trip.

I asked to speak to the manager on duty, and I thought I heard Tricia's heart drop. It's too bad that people feel that way. I believe in praising great service and she delivered some of the best in 6 states!

The owner of the facility has done an awesome job of hiring some great people! They should be very proud of them!

Oh, and that delicious meatloaf? They make it from scratch the day before to let the flavors meld! Sooo very good!!

If I could give this place a zero I probably would. We paid $33 dollars for the buffet and drinks. It was disgusting. The salad choices were ok and it looked like they had a lot of options for dessert. But my salad ended up being disgusting I had the raspberry vinaigrette it was gross. So I didn't eat any of my salad and I made a plate with some broccoli ,carrots, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, a hushpuppy and some stuffing. The hush puppy was dry and you just couldn't really eat it, the carrots tasted like they had been cooked in like beef juice or something and it was gross. The broccoli had no flavor whatsoever so you either how to season it yourself for just throw some milk to cheese on top as well as it was way over cooked, the potatoes were okay. The service was terrible we got our own napkins, our own straws, our own silverware. They had a bigger salad and dessert choice and they even did a food choices and the food choices did not look appealing at all. What food I did eat made me feel sick, the tea that I got tasted old.This is my first time visiting, we didn't even finish our food because it just wasn't edible, we had to talk to the manager , getting some of mine refunded and then going and eating at someplace else to try and have a good lunch because it was just so disgusting. I will never be back and I highly recommend that you don't even waste your money or...

Great buffet! When you enter, you are welcomed to great smells of southern fried chicken, veggies, and fresh rolls. You have to go to the counter to place your order, you have the choice of the buffet, or steak and potatoes w/ the option of adding the buffet. My family ordered the buffet with soft drinks and sweet tea. After you order, you find the table you want, then your waitress will bring your dinner and salad plates. The buffet had great meat options of everything from fried chicken to pot roast (and pretty much everything in between). Lots of side options of vegetables (of all types), beans, chicken spaghetti, dressing w/ cranberry sauce, Mac and cheese, and fried okra (I'm sure I missed something). They have a Mexican food section with cheese dip, burritos, hamburger and shredded chicken meat and taco shells. They also have a large salad bar will all the fixings. The bread section had rolls, wheat rolls, and corn bread. Everything was very good and the staff is constantly keeping fresh food on the bar. They actually ring a bell when fresh chicken comes out! After eating our meal, we unfortunately didn't have room for dessert, but it looked really good! Variety of pies, cookies, and a ice cream bar. We definitely look forward to...
