Aslan Brewing Fremont — Restaurant in Seattle

I had a horrible service experience. I came here on a Friday with a friend, ordered food from Local Tide and then went over to Aslan to order a beer. The server asked for my ID, and after looking at it, claimed I didn't "look like my picture" and refused to serve me. She asked for another form of ID, so I gave her my credit card with my name on it, and she still refused to serve me. She asked another co-worker to look at my ID and she claimed I didn't "look like my picture" either and asked me to leave, so I did. I'm 23 and look young, but nonetheless I felt disrespected and embarrassed. I came back the next day with my passport, hoping to at least have a manager acknowledge that I am the individual in my ID picture and that they were wrong to deny me service. The workers and manager again refused to acknowledge that they were wrong, and told me to get out. I had been here before and never had a problem, but this was pretty outrageous. Disrespectful Service – A Disappointing Experience

The exterior of this place gives off a welcoming vibe, but my experience was anything but. I came in hoping to enjoy a pleasant evening, but the bartender—a white man with curly hair—was dismissive and condescending, masking arrogance under a veneer of fake politeness. His attitude made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable, which completely ruined the experience.

While I can’t pinpoint exactly what his issue was, the way he treated me was unacceptable. Maybe it was just a bad day for the bartender, but for a customer, it’s a forever "no." A business that claims to offer a welcoming atmosphere should ensure its staff treats all customers with basic respect and courtesy. Unfortunately, this was not the case here.

I was there with 2!friends last Friday. The Beer pourer (I don’t want to call her a bartender) was very rude and was giving me awkward reactions when I simply asked to get an additional glass to share my beer with my friend since all of us were having hard time finding a beer we like. I asked for a wheat beer and I was directed to a pilsner. Her response was “there is wheat in Pilsner too”. Obviously ignoring what I wanted because they did not have it. Useless spot. Just support your local bar you don’t need to travel all the way to this place expecting you will find a gem. There is no gem here.
