**Review Summary: Avoid This Place!** I rarely write reviews, but this restaurant deserves one. I visited based on recommendations from influencers, which was a mistake. Here’s a quick rundown of my experience: 1. Guntur Kodi Masala: A complete disaster—tomato-based puree with no salt and large chicken pieces in a watery gravy. Not even close to authentic. 2. Mutton Sukka Varuval: Same issue—bland and lacking salt. The chef clearly forgot this basic seasoning. 3. Slightly Better Options: The Malabar parotha and Tava fry fish were decent, but that’s not enough to salvage the meal.As they say if you don’t have a good bread or daal then close the place. 4. Manager’s Response-When I provided feedback about the salt, the manager suggested putting salt on the table. This is not a solution! Basic cooking should include proper seasoning, not just a side of salt. 5. **Hygiene Issues**: A nearby table returned their food due to finding hair in their meduvada. 6. Basic etiquette of this biz is pacing the delivery of food based on customer needs. Bringing appetizers and main course within 5 minutes of each other is basically rushing customers. While we tried to enjoy the appetizers, main course was sitting on next table unattended. In summary, save your hard-earned money and avoid this place. Changing names of the restaurant won’t fix the fundamental issues. Good food is what brings customers back—this restaurant needs serious improvement!

I’m so excited to discover this new South Indian restaurant in Fremont! It’s crave worthy, and everything I’ve had here has been delicious. Came here for dinner with my family and ordered: meds vada (savory fried lentil donuts), a masala dosa that wasn’t on the menu but our server highly recommended as being slightly different from their other dosa, Madurai mutton Karl dosa (a thicker pancake that has a fabulous mouth feel), and Paneer butter masala (for my child who hadn’t had south Indian food before). All of it was delicious. I came back for lunch and tried some new dishes. They didn’t have one of the things I ordered, so the server recommended a dish with puri (fried bread that gets all puffed up) and a curry of potatoes and peas. My 10-year-old adored it. We also got their gulab jamun for dessert both times. The second visit, my kid gobbled it up so fast and with such glee that the server offered to bring her another one, and didn’t charge us for it. ❤️ The staff are super friendly and helpful, and the space is beautiful. I look forward to visiting this restaurant for many years to come! I do wish they offered some thali plates so it was easier to try an assortment of dishes if you’re not there with a large group. And some dedicated lunch specials would be nice, since I don’t usually want quite as much food at lunchtime as for dinner. But overall 10/10 would recommend!

I’ve been to this location before, back when it was called Rasai. This newer version feels like a budget rebranding and unfortunately, it shows. Visited on Saturday at 6 PM. We were seated immediately. What we ordered: • Hot & Sour Soup – Decent start. Not memorable, but did the job in setting the tone for the meal. • Paneer Tikka Tandoor – The paneer itself was well-marinated and flavorful. However, the thick layer of oil on the skillet was a bit much, definitely unappetizing. • Sambar Vada – A mixed experience. The vada was undercooked and lacked seasoning, but the sambar was genuinely good. Possibly the best thing we tasted that evening. • Vijayawada Paneer Biryani – Easily the most disappointing dish of the night. The rice was just sitting on a tangy paneer curry that felt more like an appetizer than part of a biryani. The elements didn’t come together at all. • Kothu Parotta – This one missed the mark completely. It lacked the bold flavors and texture you expect from a good kothu parotta. It oddly resembled poha more than anything else. For $75, the overall quality and flavors were super disappointing. While service was efficient and a couple of items were passable, most dishes either lacked authenticity or proper execution. If you’re looking for a spot that caters to a desi palate, this likely won’t meet expectations.

Restaurant Review: A Disastrous Dining Experience

I don’t usually take the time to write reviews, but this restaurant was so bad that I felt compelled to help others. Here’s a breakdown of what happened during our 3.5 hour ordeal:

The Wait to Get Seated: We were told the wait time would be much shorter than it actually was. After waiting over 1 hour and 10 minutes for a table, the staff made excuses, blaming other customers for staying too long and ordering more food. If they had been honest about the wait time upfront, we could have made an informed decision.

Service After Seating: Once seated, it took 20 minutes just to get menus. When the menus finally arrived, we waited an additional 15 minutes before anyone came to take our order.

Food Delays and Weird Comments: After placing our order, the food took an agonizing 1 hour to arrive. When I politely asked for a status update, the waiter gave a bizarre excuse, claiming they give priority to old and pregnant customers. Not only did this seem like a complete lie, but it was also an incredibly unprofessional response. To make matters worse, he later joked that I was “hangry,” which was rude and unnecessary.

Basic Service Mistakes: We were a party of five, but they only served us four plates. The extra plate didn’t arrive for ages, so one of us had to wait while the rest started eating.

Overall Experience: In total, we spent 3.5 hours at this restaurant, with most of the time wasted waiting for one thing or another. The entire experience was disorganized and frustrating.

Honestly, I think this restaurant is just a rebrand of the old one that was here before, and there’s been no real improvement. The service was abysmal, and the staff’s attitude made it worse.

It’s simply...

⭐ 1 Star – Disappointing Experience

It’s frustrating when the hype from social media doesn’t match reality, especially with service issues and mix-ups in dishes served. Serving an appetizer after the mains and getting a completely different dish without notice is definitely not okay. At least the uttapam was a small win, but it seems the rest didn’t live up to expectations.

We ordered: • Appetizers: Rasam, Medu Vada, Gobhi Manchurian • Main Course: Podi Masala Uttapam, Masala Dosa, and Kothu Idiyappam

Service Issues: • The appetizer (Medu Vada) arrived after three main courses, only when we reminded them. Worse, it had a strong chicken smell, as if fried in the same oil as chicken—completely unacceptable for a vegetarian dish. • The Kothu Idiyappam arrived 1.5 hours after ordering, and it wasn’t even idiyappam. They admitted they ran out of coconut milk but still served what seemed like Bengaluru-style veg pulao, trying to pass it off as idiyappam without informing us.

Food Quality: • The Podi Masala Uttapam was the only standout dish. • Gobhi Manchurian and Rasam was just average. • Medu Vada was a complete letdown due to poor preparation and cross-contamination. • Idiyappam was not even idiyappam.

Overall: 1 star ⭐. Poor service, long wait times, and a lack of transparency completely overshadowed the meal. Instagram reels were misleading—definitely not worth the hype. Again, saving grace was that server/owner accepted the mistake and voided the vada...
