This was our first visit since COVID. Much seems to have changed. The interior looks more modern than we remembered, so there may have been some remodeling. Outdoor dining is now covered by corrugated fiberglass on a wood frame, with lights hanging below. That's very helpful, except in extreme weather. Dining space has always been a huge issue with this place.
The Hamburger was at least as good as I remember. The patty had a wonderful roasted flavor, and the included condiments and dressing were ample and well-balanced. We liked the buns, though they were not exceptional.
We had the "yam fries", which were a first for us. They were tasty and salted appropriately.
The chocolate shake was very good, but not equal to the chocolate shakes at the Burger Addict, in Renton.
Parking is an issue here. There is a small lot on the downhill side of the building. The spaces looked pretty tight. We parked on a residential street a block away.
Service was very interesting. We paid with a credit card. It's unclear if cash is an option here. Naturally, the receipt had our name at the top. There was no order number, per se. I wondered how our meal would be announced/delivered. The cashier apparently remembered everyone who ordered, because she delivered the order to our table in the outdoor area.
The credit card machine has 15% as the lowest choice, unless you want to go with a custom amount, or no tip at all (bad choice -- don't stiff the folks who're taking...
Read moreI Convinced my wife to order from Bent Burger- she hasn’t been hugely satisfied with the quality of their food for the price in the last several years. My experiences have been mostly positive, and their food has been mostly good (but certainly not great), albeit a bit pricey.
Our experience on the evening of 7/25, however, was far from satisfactory, and thus the negative review. Below is a list of our issues...
I waited at the pick up window for about 5 minutes without being acknowledged by staff. Meanwhile our completed order sat under the heat lamp.
Got to the park to eat the food that we ordered only to find no napkins, and more importantly 2 of the 3 burgers that my family received we’re NOT WHAT WE ORDERED. Incidentally, the list of items that we ordered (and should have received) was on the receipt stapled to the front of the bag in which we received our food.
I obviously should have checked the order before I left- my family was quite hungry, and eager to eat. In any case, it’s unlikely that we will return. This experience has unfortunately sealed my wife’s poor perception of...
Read moreI ordered a bacon cheeseburger and oreo milkshake. The burger was served quickly and was fantastic. But at some point, my order for the oreo milkshake got lost in the bustle, and I had to remind one of the staff twice over the span of about a half hour. I was entirely willing to wait if necessary. But I noticed customers who had arrived later started to receive their own oreo shakes; which is why I assume my order had been lost or forgotten.
In fairness, there was a sudden influx of customers, and there seemed to have been a minor issue with the shake making process at one point.
The atmosphere at Bent Burgers is fun and unique. It really felt like a community establishment. The staff was terse, but friendly overall. There was a young boy working the counter, which was surprising. I don't know what sort of arrangement has him working there, but he was competent.
Prices were...
