This place was good for dine-in and the first few times I ordered on UberEats last year. So I'm not sure what happened because a month ago, I got partly uncooked salmon kama. Then today, for my three orders of baked oysters, I got TWO shells with actual meat inside. They thought it was okay to send out baked (or pureed) sauce. I've ordered this dish multiple times prior, so either they need to state a change in the description or not serve it. This is beyond unprofessional as a restaurant to dupe customers, and I suspect it's probably a change of owners. However, it seems like they have no problem serving food for people dining in.

Enjoyed dining here at Gokan. A good japanese restaurant to eat with family or friends. I brought my visiting friends for dinner. We all had a wonderful time. Staffs are friendly. You can ask for food suggestions or recommendation. Nice ambiance, clean and airy because it has glass sliding doors on all sides of the restaurant to open it to sidewalks. Food has good presentation, flavorful and delicious. Love pairing my food with hot sake. Must try the pork belly skewers. Its delicious! Prices are affordably reasonable. Coming back to this place for sure.

Loved the curry tofu, it's not just straight from a curry packet. It has a few veggies here and there. I wish the tofu had panko on it, like the meat versions. It comes with something like tempura coating, and the menu description is misleading. The lettuce salad needed more mayo and tomato. I loved the shiso roll, it had fresh shiso leaves; it could have had more veggies and less rice. We were able to eat well for 2 in under 25 bucks, which is great for this part of capitol hill

We went again this year to celebrate mine & 2 of my friend's birthdays. A really great couple introduced me to this RESTURAUNT about 3 years ago. I really enjoy the interior & the sushi is amazing. So last year went with a group to celebrate my birthday & I guess because it was mine & everyone was there to celebrate for me, I didn't really catch alot of the things that I guess just stood out to me. I do believe a group is very challenging to service, but just felt a little odd about when I see asked for a wifi password so that I could send a Lyft for some of our group to come & also to read the menu, felt like it was bothersome to our waitress - explained to they don't do this because there are too many different WiFi's only for employees. Then, when we were being seated had mentioned that there were two people in our party coming later due to an emergency, were explained that when the table seated next to us were done then the rest of our guests could be seated. Felt awkward because I had made reservations for 8 & we were only being seated for 6. I guess I could understand if I had only reserved a space for 6 & more people were coming, that I could understand. It's just that I made reservations for 8 people @ 7:30 & that was the time we were being seated with being told for the rest of our group could be seated when the table next to us were finished. It was a Saturday night & I don't really feel that people in my group felt treated very well. Other little things occured throughout our dinner, but when the bill came was one of the worst. We didn't want to make it complicated for our server to run several cards, so we figured a number with a nice gratuity & everyone put cash in & the last person asked if the server could run their card for $40 & then when they returned the amount of cash did not match what we all had put into our bill & left is all redoing our math for each one of us, but without the cash to recount ourselves felt very uncomfortable. I, myself will probably be going back, because I do enjoy the food here, but some of the group probably will not & talked about the way it made them feel. All & all the three birthday people enjoyed dinner & the company of good food & being surrounded by others. Shout out to the one male server who helped us when we had a big spill across our table, coming over to take group pictures for us & assisting the server in bringing out ice cream with a lit candle for the three of us celebrating our birthday. I never got your name but it really meant alot that you showed our group that you...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Gokan Sushi & Katsu House, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment we walked in, the service staff greeted us with warm smiles and gentle manners, instantly making us feel welcome.

The service at Gokan Sushi & Katsu House was not only friendly but also incredibly quick. Our orders were taken promptly, and our food arrived at our table in no time. It was evident that the staff was efficient and dedicated to providing a seamless dining experience.

Now, let's talk about the food. We started with the Crispy Bok Choy, which was served with a ponzu garlic oil. The combination of flavors was simply divine. The bok choy had a delightful crunch, and the tangy ponzu garlic oil added a burst of freshness to each bite.

Next, we indulged in a classic California roll. The sushi was expertly prepared, with fresh ingredients and a perfect balance of flavors. It was a true delight to savor each piece, and it left us craving for more.

For our main course, we opted for the Grilled Salmon Kama and Marinated Short Ribs. The salmon was cooked to perfection, with a slightly crispy skin and tender, flaky flesh. The marinated short ribs were incredibly flavorful, with a rich and savory taste that was simply mouthwatering.

To accompany our meal, we ordered the House Made Lemonade. This refreshing beverage was the perfect complement to the bold flavors of our dishes. It was tangy, slightly sweet, and incredibly refreshing.

Overall, dining at Gokan Sushi & Katsu House was a true culinary delight. The flavors that danced on our taste buds were nothing short of amazing. The combination of warm and friendly service, quickness, and outstanding food made for an unforgettable dining experience. I highly recommend Gokan Sushi & Katsu House to anyone looking for a top-notch Japanese...

I have been eating here for 7 years. This place used to be great. Everything was delicious, service was good, and prices were reasonable (happy hour deals were amazing). Something has changed, and not for the better.

Went to dine in today for the first time in awhile. Service was slow despite there being only 4 or 5 groups total in the restaurant (maybe 20% capacity). Prices on everything have gone up noticeably, which is to be expected during current times I guess. The happy hour deals are not worth coming in for anymore, at most you get 1-2 dollars off $12+ menu items. All this would be tolerable, however, if the food quality was still great. Unfortunately it isn't. The specialty rolls in particular were a disappointment. Small serving sizes for $13 rolls (in comparison to how they used to make them), fish didn't taste very fresh or flavorful, and the deep fried ones weren't even crispy!

Giving them two stars because I hope they can improve and get back to how they used to be - in food quality, service, and value. Currently they fall flat...
