I wanted to show my parents the store since they are in town from FL and I frequent there and have for the passed like 10 years. In those years Ive brought them over atleast 10 different customers from out of town (Im originally from the east coast). I myself just spent about $500 there earlier this week. The woman that helped me was very kind and helpful. So I take my parents... it was only 11:30a so we went to the skateshop connected to Zions Gate Records while we waited till 12p. Its 12p so we walk on over. We almost get hit by someone who appears to have never riden or scooter before or is expressing road rage by scooter. They seem to also be waiting to go in. They finally get someone to open up for them so I come behind and before I step in I ask "are they open?" And he very rudely says "No it clearly says CLOSED", and shuts the door in my face. At that moment I realized he was a disgruntled employee (which I probably should have know by the Billionaires Club fit but he made it look so tacky and cheap I overlooked it) so I responded "yeah but it also says 12p...?". My moms telling me shes so put off she refuses to check it out. The short disgruntled asian manager opens the door in such a peculiar way, as if to make me seem like Im tryng to force my way in. I remember him so i felt comfortable asking why there was such a rude response to me. I apologized for touching the door since he seemed to think i was going to break in and I do believe in keeping my hands to myself. He said that I was rude for even asking when the sign clearly says CLOSED (mind you its now like 12:10p). Then scooter boy jumps back in the scene and says he wasnt rude and Im the one "trippin" or something. He was a mush mouth speaker so it was hard to tell exactly what he was saying. I mentioned not only he was rude but he came in rude, almost hitting us. He had so much animosity said I was dramatic and also said "boo hoo cry me a river". I then smiled cause I realized.. he is actually miserable, degenerate, and late to work. He shouted something at me and my mom as we walked away but again, it was mush mouthery. Im disappointed at how the old short manager handled it. I will not be going back there and I wont be recommending anyone to, moving forward. The males in that shop are incompetent. Lucky Dog, on the other hand, is a way more respectable business, with lovely customer service by...
Read moreBAIT ruined my sons Christmas!
It was a big decision to bring my 10 year old son to stand in line the 35 degree weather but I DID, and what a mistake. What shoe was dropping you ask? It was the release of the Kobe 6 reverse Grinch when the store opened at 12noon December 15th. We organically waited there for 6 hours and counted how many people/chairs (mostly ghost chairs) was ahead of us and we number 47 & 48. Not only people cut the line but there are so many backdoor sales (who wasn’t in line) that was going down with people heavily involved in the shoe community that it didn’t give the public a fair chance to earn the opportunity to purchase. People showed up hours after us landing these shoes. Minutes before the store opened BAIT messed up here and started handing numbered tickets to anyone who rushed the entrance not caring about anybody who continued to wait in line. I can hear the store owner/workers making a feeble attempt to see who was in front, but the fact there being a crowd they just blindly gave the tickets and went off of what people said. I don’t want to do business with a company that treats their customers this way. This was my sons first experience and it wasn’t a good one. We won’t be coming back.
My friends and family who are avid shoe collectors just stood in line night before for the powerpuff girl sb dunks @35th Ave Skate shop and they have a super legit system and handed multiple tickets throughout the day at random times hours before the release. Brilliant! It shows you were physically present and earned you a spot. They was no weird “ghost chairs” because they didn’t allow it.
I don’t want to hear from BAIT saying we are not responsible for what goes on outside because they could have easily prevented all these shenanigans with a ticket system. You are responsible knowing normal hard working people are standing in line hours (sometimes days) before you open. Instead, they decide to SHOW UP MINUTES before they open. I’ve had my share of standing in line (including Nike, Best Buy, Foot Locker, Razor, etc.) and never experienced anything like this. I’m not looking for hand outs… I just wanted to get my son his Kobe’s...
Read moreWe were in the area for the football matches this weekend. Great store down to the merchandising, curation they have, and even the clearance stuff. I just think they need to add more sneaker brands other than just the main nike, converse and adidas. Maybe new balance, asics in the future!? We walked in and were greeted @ the door and every staff member checked up on our group as we walked throughout the store. Honestly seems like the customers are rude to the staff. I watched a large ENGLISH speaking group/family come in as we were being helped near the adidas, be greeted CLEAR as day only to leave the staff member with deer in the headlight stares and give no response. Another thing it seems like a lot of customers fail to take time and READ THE HUGE SIGN ON THE DOOR that clearly states NO FOOD/DRINK/RESTROOM. AT LEAST AS CUSTOMERS take time to read the signage posted all throughout exterior and interior of the store if you are going to be NON COMMUNICATIVE to the staff. As I read the reviews (new to old) I understand why a lot of you complaining in the reviews probably think you got bad service you probably showed you had 0 respect once you walked in the door. Trust me I work retail as well and we wouldn't want business from customers who think they are higher than the rules or stuff. Much love and respect to the BAIT staff (Tommy, Nic, and Aldrich!) Ill be back during world cup...
