I’ll start by saying there was a time when I loved Infinity. Communication was easy, upfront & transparent & there was an air of professionalism at the front office & it felt moderately worthwhile to pay $3,000 a month for a “fine” 2 bed apartment in Cap Hill. Then management changed & there was terrible shift among new staff.
It’s a zoo trying to get any type of response or acknowledgment from the front office. I’m happy when they actually respond to me, but that should be a BARE MINIMUM standard from any apartment complex anywhere. When you pay $36,000 a year, not even including basic utilities, etc, you hope that there’s a certain standard upheld by the staff & management. Let me be clear: the MAINTENANCE team was fantastic & they were always prompt & diligent when helping with issues around my apartment. It’s entirely the front office that my issues stem from. The amount of times I had to go down to the front office to follow-up on emails or calls that were left unacknowledged for days on end, only to find: the office entirely empty, doors shut during their business hours (not even lunch, & no indication they were giving tours, so no clue when they’d be back), staff members texting/playing games on their phones, or staff sitting around wrapped in blankets just chatting & not acknowledging me/other residents standing waiting & avoiding eye contact.
Their effort is reflected in lack of communication, shortcomings & general disarray around the premises. I would have been left relatively unbothered by a lot of it & would have brushed it off as “the difficulties of running a big apartment complex” because I get it, there’s a lot to monitor & take care of. Yet, the perceived lack of care from the front office made all of these issues seem rather avoidable, especially when combined with their high rates.
It’s our homes, it’s expensive, & we are a community. It’d be nice to hold Rick & staff to a certain level of accountability & reliability.
Staff aside, this building is fine. Can I say it’s worth the crazy high rent prices? No. It was a good run for a year but the cost here isn’t worth it, despite the good location. The rooftop is nice but the poo-filled dog run takes up the entirety of the Rainier views & is very stinky, but the main area provides nice viewing of downtown & Space Needle. Gym is small, but gets the job done, although sanitary machine wipes are never available & I’ve never seen a cleaning crew in there. Packages get a lost a lot, but 90% of the time they show up within a month of delivery. I once spoke with Rick about a package that’d gone missing & I’d been looking out for it for a week, he said post office was to blame & then my package mysteriously showed up at my doorstep 30 minutes later with no acknowledgement of anything (FYI postal staff have no access to my floor since they need a key fob to use the escalator for security reasons. Really sus, Infinity staff). Parking garage is easy, but it’s $275 a month.
Would I recommend Infinity to a friend? Probably not. There are so many options in Cap Hill & I think your $$ might go further at other places.
I moved out over a month ago & I’m STILL having issues trying to resolve final payments. It’s like pulling teeth to just pay my final balance. I have to repeatedly follow up on emails after 2 weeks of no responses. Ridiculous. You think they’d want my money & would make it a priority. It really underscores the issues I had living there.
IN RESPONSE TO THE REPLY TO MY REVIEW: Rick, when you email former residents saying you mailed them materials, it’s a fair question to ask what address it was sent to since it was never received, despite the fact that I set up mail forwarding & received all other mail that was forwarded my way from my previous address at Infinity. “Demand” is a harsh way of saying I was asking basic questions. I’m sorry that you & your team cannot keep up with the workload, but when you repeatedly fail to respond to time-sensitive emails for weeks on end, it’s fair to request basic information so I can take care of...
Read moreKey Points: Illegally keeping deposit, sent to collections with no warning for $52.27 that had not yet come due, poor communication.
Edit: I'm updating my review to 2 stars instead of 1 because, after I emailed them again and copied the regional manager, Liora got back to me and arranged to have my deposit sent and the collections called off.
It is worth noting that many of the five star reviews you'll see here were from people who merely toured the building and didn't live in it. Infinity also has an incentivized positive review system for residents where they can earn points toward a rent discount if they give positive reviews, which seems to me to artificially increase their review scores. I never participated in this program.
I lived at Infinity for three and a half years as a tenant who made no complaints about others and had no complaints made about me. Up until recently I would have given Infinity Apartments at least 4 stars, subtracting 1 star only because I have had a few packages stolen over that time and sometimes the neighborhood would get pretty loud (but I brought that on myself by choosing to live in the heart of the party). However, the way I have been treated during move-out has been terrible. I feel so hurt to be treated this way after making that apartment my home for several years.
In my lease, it is stated that I "should meet with their representative" for a final walk-through before moving out (a standard practice). My cat caused slight damage to a closet door and I wanted to be there in person to point it out. I attempted to schedule this walk-through repeatedly over the course of six weeks but they would not do so and acted as if I was in the wrong to ask. I finally had to schedule the walk-through I was entitled to by circumventing the leasing office and submitting a maintenance request for it. At least I CAN say that their maintenance folks were always great and the service quick.
Although it has now been more than 30 days since my lease ended, Infinity has not given me back my $550 deposit and has not sent me any information about it/an itemized list despite the maintenance manager telling me during my walk-through that I would likely get most of it back. According to local law, it is illegal to keep a deposit past this point. I've attempted to contact them about it and they have not responded. I'll be pretty irritated if I have to waste my time by taking them to small claims court over this.
Meanwhile, they just sent me to COLLECTIONS over a final utility bill of $52.27, even though the bill isn't even due until a few days from now and the check is already in the mail right now. I can only surmise that they did this out of spite because they did not like that I insisted on a final walk-through, which is unprofessional. It is also insulting given that I was never once late with the very high rent. They made no attempt to contact me before sending me to collections, keeping in mind that as I write this the due date for the bill has not even passed.
There has been high and recent turnover in the leasing office and due to this I feel that service has declined. Jocelyn was very easy to work with, but she has transferred to another location.
As others have said if you read through the reviews, be careful with this management company. I did nothing wrong and was a model tenant yet I am still being treated with malice and negligence...
Read moreSince i choose the business i work/use relying mostly on other's reviews i decided to share my thoughts as well. I honestly think the 1-2 star ratings are mostly from personal "one time" incidents that can happen in any apartment community rather than an objective view of this property/business. Let me first say, i don't have any experience with apartments in other states but WA, but in WA i had the pleasure to try/live in over 10 "high ends" so i'll try to keep it as objective as i can. First of all let me start with something i'm sure we all understand - there is no such thing as "perfect apartment"... it's not your own house and it's a rental. Nevertheless i must say my personal experience is way above average that you will come across in Seattle and Cap. Hill area. The positives in my humble opinion are: Great floor plans with very convenient kitchen layouts/storage as well as decent appliance! (Fridge usually better than you'd expect from most apartments in this area). Location that doesn't get any better!!! anything you just might think about Seattle has to offer is right here at the front door. The managmet is very professional and the maintenance team will never take any request as "too much" and do anything to accommodate your needs. The property manager care for this property as it was her own and the community events are top notch! The luxury hotel/resort feel is hard to ignore...anyone who'd enter Infinity would be "Wowed"
Now for the less great points: The amazing location in the middle of it all can be noisy at times if you're not used to mid city party area. (The great windows definitely help with that). The Lack of A/C...It's not something to blame "Infinity" specifically but unfortunately in Seattle most apartment buildings have no A/C or even "A/C ready" units...i definitely hope it will be changes in future...global worming does dictates and it is in my opinion a basic need. While most neighbors are amazing and pleasure to live with, some forget the "Non smoking" part of this property and allow themselves to smoke recreational weed all around and make your unit sometimes smell like it... it's very unfortunate and the leasing office do their best with this problem but it is a concern. It's legal in WA and nothing against it but "smoke free" community - should be smoke free! While I personally think in general the leasing team are extremely helpful and pleasure to live/work with, some need to get a little to the ground and loose the attitude. Package deliveries are indeed an issue and sometimes are "lost" or being "found" much later than arrived. This issue defiantly being addressed and lockers are now being installed as far as i understand.
I think in general Infinity apartments are way above average in Seattle and Cap. Hill and i give...
