Attention! Be careful of the staff member Saaketh. He will take your debit and or credit card and charge an incorrect amount owed and be disrespectful when caught.
I came in Wedensday 5/10 /23 morning for a meal with my spouse and my order was $41.00 .
Cassie was our original server and was very kind and patient and very active! Saaketh took it upon himself to take my card with the printed receipt off the table to help Cassie.
Very nice of him right? WRONG. He returns me my card with the receipt of $84.13
Before I jumped to conclusion I checked my bank account to verify. It was correct.
My spouse speaks to him and he was non apologetic and was rude. I had to insert myself in the situation.
He starts to talk to Cassie and has the audacity to speak to her about me like I am not standing right there.
And telling me there is no reason for me to be upset! I have every right to be upset. You charged me $84.13
But I never yelled at him or called him names.
Anyways he takes my card and refunds the money and gives me a receipt of voided $84.13
I leave with the non confidence this was done correctly and guess what? I was right!
I check my account and see $84.13 was added to my account (green +) then $84.13 taken out of my account again. so the $84.13 cancel it self out.
I call the store immediately and asked why was my card charged again. I get the answer of the tab needed to be closed. Okay and? My tab was not $84.13
And why do I find out that the person who did it again was SAAKETH
I end up going to the location and speaking with Cassie and she is very sincere and apologetic but Sakeeth is a rude disrespectful human being. He had no business coming behind the counter and saying "the tab is closed don't worry about it" and shooing me off
I end up getting no where until TODAY 5/12/23 that my money will not be refunded back because there records show $41.00 already charged to my card and they can reverse back anything. even though I have bank statements to prove it. I am just getting told wait till Monday and oh If I see 41.00 plus 84.16 charged to my account I will be very disappointed.
The manager Pedro is a kind man and heard me out and I know he can only do so much just like Cassie but Saaketh should not work in the industry with the type of attitude he has with his customers for the mistake he has done...
Read moreI don’t go to IHOP with high expectations this location is exactly why. I worked several years in the service industry and feel like I am well versed with the demands of the job and i always try to make the dining experiences as painless as possible for all involved. This experience began quite typically until our server came to the table. She kept trying to walk away while taking out drink order. This particular location requires a security code to enter the bathroom. When I asked our server for the code she blurted something out in what I believe was Mandarin and began to walk away then turned around abruptly and said there was no add need at that moment - FYI this is the first time anyone has ever mistakenly thought I spoke mandarin. I was additionally put off by the fact that she was wearing a mask. I understand that it is Seattle with an unusually high population of awkward introverts but this was at a business which I took to mean she was sick. I felt uncomfortable exposing my family to whatever illness was plaguing the women but at the same time she showed no signs of being contagious, so I looked past it. In any case throughout our entire visit she acted rushed and inconvenienced but never asked how we were and didn’t offer to refill the coffee, which tasted awful, until she brought our check. Understanding that this is a difficult job with a lot of thankless costumers I said nothing about the service and tipped generously. I remember the total including tax and tip to be slightly under $100.00 which I was surprised about; however, when the transaction hit my bank statement it was over $100. It’s possible that it was mistakenly entered incorrectly but because of the nature of the service I feel like it is more likely that a couple extra dollars where added to the total. Additionally, she misunderstood my girlfriend and brought out an additional fence toast that I decided to accept and absorb the cost of. In retrospect I am not sure whether or not this was...
Read moreWhen I was a kid, The International House of Pancakes was a treat. These days, with the name shortened to IHOP, it is just a place near the movie theater that I would not give a second thought for. But, there I was at 6am on a rainy morning after taking my girlfriend to the airport. I was hungry and needed coffee. It was two days before Christmas and nothing else was open. The lights were on, so I pulled in. An Uber eats guy dashed in and returned with a bag of food. Somebody was getting breakfast in bed, I guess. There was one other customer inside the clean and brightly lit dining area. There was no one out front to show me to a table, so I whistled a Christmas carol to signal my presence. A man came out. After I confirmed that I needed a table for one, he took a minute to choose just the right one from all the empty spots. I don’t know what calculation he used, but the result was fine. I sat down and asked for coffee. Those of you who follow my reviews know that I like to get chicken fried steak to see if a breakfast spot knows their stuff. That would be a little unfair in a chain place like IHOP. If I wanted to see them shine, I should order pancakes, right? I guess I was feeling impish, because I went for the chicken fried steak. The food showed up quickly and was about what I should have expected - very bland and uninteresting. The good news was that it came with a side of pancakes. One of the treats from my childhood was the variety of syrups you could get. These days, you have to ask for anything besides the maple that was on the table. The guy on duty had disappeared into the back, so I stuck with maple. I spread a little butter between the pancakes and drenched them in syrup. The little triangle I ate was fantastic. It was good to see that they still lived up to the old name. Next time I go, I’ll order pancakes with a side...
