OVERALL: Would love to go back to try more of their items!
Family friendly: Yes and no… No restriction on age but they have a sign that limits 5 customers at a time in their store Pet friendly: No Parking: Street Parking
FOOD/MENU: Mango Sticky Rice Rice Crispy Treat (Coconut infused marshmallow, dried mango, toasted coconut) $5: 4 Stars – At first bite, you really did not taste anything… like it tasted like a normal rice crispy treat… but slowly, the coconut and mango flavor come in and its like WOW.
Black sesame rice crispy treat (brown butter, roasted black sesame seeds, black sesame paste, flaky sea salt) $5: 3 Stars – I really wanted to love this since all things black sesame is amazing!!! The flavor was light, very light… If it was more robust flavor, I think it would have been a lot better.
Vegan Ube cookies & cream rice crispy treat (ube marshmallows, vegan butter, gluten free oreo pieces) $5: 3 Stars – I’m on the fence about this. This was opposite for me with the Ube and Mango… I could taste it right away but the more I ate, the less I liked it… nothing bad about it but maybe a little artificial tasting?
Classic Chocolate Chip Cookie (milk and dark chocolate and Okinawan sea salt) $5: 4 Stars – This was soooo yummy and gooey. I loved that they used large chucks verse “chips.” I do wish this was a little bigger for being priced at $5. I’ve seen other bakeries that have smaller cookies but priced 2-3x more and are horrible… so I guess I shouldn’t complain? LOL
Yuzu-berry tiramisu (ladyfinger sponge, yuzu soak, marionberry jam, vanilla mascarpone cream) $12: 3 Stars – Very yuzy, very berry tasting LOL I do prefer the classic tiramisu over this one though… I think this is the time that classic will trump modern/contemporary 😊
RESTAURANT/SERVICE: Small little cute bake shop. Due to the limit of 5 customers inside, we did not stay long as a small line started to form by the time we were done ordering. Even with the limited amount of time spent, the workers were extremely friendly...
Read moreThe only people worthy of this spot after Coping Cookies closure. Kemi Dessert Bar is an insanely cute and delicious addition to Cap Hill. The Mango Sticky Rice Krispy Square is to die for and their Lemon Yuzu Crinkle Cookie is such a light refreshing sweet treat. They serve up some of the most amazing desserts that look like something out of a James Beard winning restaurant and I'm sure they take forever to make. But the team at Kemi are extremely humble, friendly and just love serving up treats for everyone that steps inside.
I'll definitely be back. Welcome to the...
