Leon Coffee House - U District — Restaurant in Seattle

First - it's almost impossible to find cafés in the area (besides Starbucks) that are open past 5 or 6pm ever since the pandemic. Leon is open until 7:30pm!! Plus, they were super friendly, there's complimentary water, reusable real mugs (and they actually ask!! Yay for the environment!), and fantastic latte art! (I took this pic after walking upstairs, not even carefully - it looked even better when I first picked it up!) And they have a dedicated space for people who are here to spend a few hours on their laptops.

I'd consider myself a regular customer at Leon's, and I have yet to have a bad experience with them. The staff are always incredibly friendly and helpful. The drinks are fantastic - I've tried the lavender matcha, strawberry matcha, strawberry Italian soda, mango latte, and strawberry latte.

The matcha taste is extremely present in the drinks alongside the added flavors, but neither are overpowering the other. I asked them if I could make a strawberry latte (modeling off their mango latte) and they said yes, and it was DELICIOUS. Their coffee is unique and the atmosphere is fantastic.

Additionally, their breakfast sandwiches are SO good, especially the chorizo breakfast sandwich. And their pastries? I love their strawberry cake and conchas. Delicious flavor and quality of everything they serve.

To top it all off, the staff are SO incredibly kind. Not only to customers, but amongst each other, the way you see the staff interact so positively together behind the counter sets the tone for the entire cafe.

All in all, don't hesitate to stop by. You're supporting a lovely, small business...

Ive been here about 4 times. The aesthetic is nice and is very welcoming. But every single time i have come it has been a customer service disaster after another. The first time they mistankenly gave me a hot drink in it's cold version, the second and third time they took about 30 minutes on my one drink order ( i love their horchata flavored drinks but it is not worth being late to class for) even though I usually come in during NON-peak buissness hours. The last and final time i waited 25 minutes for my drink before going to ask about its progress just to be told someone else had taken it. I ALWAYS wait right in front of the ordering counter so I would hear if they called my number and they never did. This is a great social spot for sure but the service and staff need some work. Sadly, if you need your Takeout coffee in a normal timely manner and are not going to be doing some work here on a laptop i reccomend you go to another local Ave coffee shop.
