Title: Delicious Shawarma and Gyro with Amazing Tahini Sauce!

Rating: ★★★★☆

I recently visited a shawarma shop and had the pleasure of trying their mouthwatering shawarma sandwiches and gyros. I must say, it was a delightful experience with flavors that left a lasting impression.

The highlight of the visit was undoubtedly the shawarma sandwiches and gyros. Both dishes were exceptionally delicious and satisfying. The shawarma had perfectly seasoned and tender meat, packed with flavorful spices. The meat was thinly sliced and piled high in warm, fluffy bread, creating a delightful combination of textures. The gyros were equally impressive, with a well-balanced blend of savory meat and fresh vegetables. The combination of flavors in both dishes was simply outstanding.

One element that truly elevated the shawarma and gyro experience was the tahini sauce. The shop's tahini sauce was exceptional - creamy, smooth, and bursting with nutty flavors. It complemented the shawarma and gyro perfectly, adding a rich and luscious touch to every bite. Whether drizzled over the meat or used as a dipping sauce, the tahini sauce enhanced the overall taste and made the dishes even more enjoyable.

The service at the shawarma shop was efficient and friendly. The staff members were attentive and took the time to explain the different options available. The ordering process was quick, and the food was prepared and served promptly.

The shop had a casual and inviting atmosphere, ideal for a quick and satisfying meal. The seating area was clean and comfortable, allowing customers to enjoy their food in a relaxed environment.

One minor aspect that could be improved is the variety of menu options. While the shawarma sandwiches and gyros were exceptional, it would be nice to see additional options for those looking for more variety or vegetarian choices. Nonetheless, the quality and taste of the dishes offered more than made up for this slight limitation.

In conclusion, if you're a fan of delicious shawarma and gyro, I highly recommend visiting this shop. The flavors are fantastic, and the tahini sauce is a standout. The shop offers a pleasant dining experience with friendly service and a comfortable ambiance. Whether you're a shawarma enthusiast or simply looking for a tasty meal, this place is definitely...

Shawarma King is easily the best middle eastern food on the Ave, probably the best in the city, and definitely the best I've ever had.

I absolutely adore this place. You walk in, and all the guys give you a smile when you walk in. You can really tell they care. They care about you, they care about their work, and most importantly, they care about the food!

The food... Everything is perfect. The meat is tender, juicy, flavorful, and you can tell it's quality. There is no discernible gristle or unwanted fat. The pita is warm, soft, and tasty, The hummus is made fresh in-house, and honestly, I didn't even know hummus could taste as good as the hummus tastes here. The vegetables are very flavorful and fresh. You can tell that everything is great quality, and it's all delicious. You can count on it. And the presentation is fantastic! Especially with the plates. And the desserts - absolutely delectable, and made in-house. You will never eat here and leave disappointed.

I've been here a bunch of times, and it's always been consistent. Excellent service, fantastic food. These guys work hard, and in my opinion, they deserve every bit of the money they earn. I don't think I've ever been this impressed with a restaurant, so it feels great to have finally found one I can love so much.

And no, even though this review may seem overly positive, I can promise you I am in no way affiliated with the restaurant. I just love what they do.

Stop by the next time you want some middle eastern food! You won't regret it.

I ordered a shawarma plate to go with no salad and sauce on the side.

The shawarma is white meat which is their first mistake and cardinal sin. White meat is so inherently dry, even when cooking low and slow on a spit. Even worse, after the cut the meat off the spit, they then RECOOK it on a flat top in oil. Crisped up edges would be great on juicy, tender dark meat cuts, but already dry white meat then fried? It was crunchy chicken almost all the way through with a dry chewy center. Not to mention, its gotta be 3oz of chicken, tops

Also, the meat had the flavor of the salad that asked to not be there - likely from some of the salad sliding out on top of the chicken in transit. It would be shameful to compare this to shawarma from other areas. Even as close as Vancouver, BC theres an abundance of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean restaurants with incredible shawarma compared to this. Its a travesty, really.

The rice is fine. Lemony, which might go well in the dish if the chicken were fatty, juicy and nott overcooked, but this dry chicken crisp/jerky combo plus a relatively sour rice aint doing it for me. The pita was good, soft and tasty. I think the hummus is probably good, but again, tasting mostly just the salad I didnt want to taste.

Having seen tons of great reviews, this was an extremely disappointing meal....

It was only okay. I got the chicken shawarma salad, my wife ordered the chicken kabob plate. My chicken shawarma was over cooked, some of the pieces were cooked till they were hard. There was plenty of food. I couldn't finish the salad portion, and there was a lot going on; letuce, tomatoes, cucumber, onions, dressing and some kind of seasoning dusted on top. Neither my wife nor I cared for the dusted on seasoning. Maybe its a traditional flavor we have not encountered before but it wasn't our taste. The chicken kabob plate was okay too. Hummus was good and the pita bread was just like what you would get at the grocery store. The kabob was on the very well done side as well and the marinade on it was not a flavor either of us cared for. This place has good reviews but we were disappointed. Maybe its a taste of home for some but the evening we visited it wasn't hitting for me and my wife. They were doing a very brisk take out business. The restaurant was kind of quiet but there was a row of orders on the counter and a stream of people picking them up. Looked promising but it wasn't a hit for us. Nothing was bad, just okay. With the good ratings hoped for something more than okay.
