Well, the fall begins. My drink that is normally $6.40 is now $7.75. I know supply prices are the issue, but regardless, I won’t be coming back. Staff is wonderful, coffee is wonderful. I simply cannot be paying upwards of $10 with tip for a coffee. Lighthouse held out longer than most shops which is why I supported them but, unfortunately chai concentrate and milk is evidently worth $6.50 now. Coffee prices I get but I mean, cmon.
Edit: appreciated the owner response so raising review. I will note, I am aware and largely empathetic to the strife of small businesses. I just cannot justify, or afford frankly, paying 8+ dollars for a singular drink. I’m not a rich Phinney home owner who is sitting on a million dollar gold mine that I bought for $190k in the 90s. I just rent an completely unaffordable apartment in the area. Anyway, I truly reciprocate the quality of product and staff, I just know that usually businesses try to give warning of price increases, and the menu didn’t have any costs on it so by the time I ordered it it would’ve been super awkward to cancel it and I didn’t want to spend time telling the baristas it was because of prices they can’t control. Anyway - good business, I am empathetic to the increase like I said in OP about understanding...
Read moreDon’t waste your time here! I decided to try this place out as I drive by it everyday on my way to work. While the coffee was good, the customer service was awful. As someone who tries to build community at my local places this business is not what I was looking for. I’m not going to assume anyone’s gender so let me just say this: I am not going to spend money at a business that has a white male presenting person treating people in a disrespectful manner. As a BIPOC woman in 2023 I’m not going to tolerate that, and y’all shouldn’t either. The details of the interaction aren’t important, but I will say it completely turned me off from this coffee shop. I heavily debated leaving a review for this place based off one interaction with one barista as I understand that has potential to be a one off thing. But, after talking with AT LEAST 10 other women local to the Fremont/Greenwood neighborhoods that have experienced the exact thing from the same barista, I decided I was going to leave the review. Like I said, don’t waste your time here. There are plenty of other coffee shops with great coffee and great people working there which in turn cultivates great community. Know your worth and remember your dollar speaks louder than your voice....
Read moreUnquestionably the BEST coffee... period! They roast their own beans on-site, have so many different authentic styles and flavors, where are ALL fantastic! I consider myself a bit of a coffee aficionado, I always search out the best roasters everywhere I go, and nothing compares to Lighthouse! All their roasts are EXTREMELY rich and flavorful, you won't find any weak coffee here - but the beauty is that it's not just the strength but that it is FULL of awesome flavor, and each variety has its own distinct taste. The baristas knowledge of the different flavors of the beans is fantastic - you can tell them what they're looking for and they'll guide you in the right direction, or even tell you which have turned out the best that day. If you're nearby come in for a drink and grab some beans to take home - but if you're not, their website sells LOTS of different varieties that they ship out ASAP after roasting. It's all SO fresh and flavorful - absolute BEST coffee beans I've...
