Lucky Chinese is not an establishment that you’re apt to come across but if you’re willing, their offerings are certainly worth the effort.
Neither “Szechuan” nor “Cantonese”, you will find a dish that appeals to you. Despite a modest menu, ASK for what YOU enjoy, and be guided to the equivalent offering. Do be aware, and spice (hot) is subjective, but a “2 star” rating here might be closer to a 3 or even a 4.
Of particular interest, and if only to sample the fare, a soup is included with an “entree”. Normally, to try a soup, a diner would have to ORDER the same.
The portions were generous, and a request for Shrimp Chow Fun (not on the menu) was readily accommodated. That dish was bursting with flavor and reason enough to return.
A hearty full meal for two was purchased for less than HALF of what other establishments would have charged but your experience may vary, depending on your order.
There is limited parking, ample seating (take-away seemed the preferred choice), and again, the location is obscure (use your favorite GPS).

The recommendations are always so polite even if they probably don’t want to give you recommendation because they’re tired of being asked they still show a smile on their face and I always happy I’ve never gone in there and had a bad experience. The food is tasty. Just make sure you’re specific about your spice level because it can be spicy but I love my spice but I know some people out there don’t so just be cautious. They’re plenty of vegetable options, which is healthy and satisfying you can add all kinds of different flavors. It is an American Chinese restaurant yet owned by Chinese descendants. I just recommend this place because it is comforting, as well as accommodating and positive place to be if you’re having a bad day and you’re craving Chinese food this is one of the...
Read moreI went because I had heard the chef previously worked at my dearly departed favorite, Grnd Villge. The "soup of the day", hot & sour, was pretty identical but the veggies & tofu in it seemed to be cut smaller. The chicken fried rice is quite good but just didn't have the same je ne sais quoi. I can't quite explain what was missing. I'd still return.
Mildly disappointed they didn't serve hot tea. I asked because I could see a machine & teapot but apparently it was broken. Still don't know why it couldn't be made the usual way: boiling water & bagged or loose leaf.
Quaint but adequate seating area. Friendly staff. Really good prices. The fried rice shown was about $10, enough to enjoy &...
