It’s Harlie, Darling!It’s Harlie, Darling!
Unfortunately, we were really disappointed with the chili here. I had been looking forward to trying this place for a long time after driving by and seeing the big sign advertising their famous chili, so we were excited to finally stop in. We paid $33 for what was supposed to be a quart, but nearly half the container was a thick layer of orange oil on top. After carefully spooning the oil out, the actual amount of chili left was surprisingly small. Even then, the texture and flavor were not what we expected. The chili was mushy and unbalanced, and the overall taste and consistency just weren’t appealing. For the price, we were really hoping for something hearty, home-y, and even pleasantly greasy, not something that felt mostly like just grease and filler. I really really don’t enjoy leaving negative reviews and even went and contemplated leaving one, but this was genuinely one of the most disappointing food experiences we’ve had. Hopefully our experience was a one-off, but we don’t see ourselves coming back. We ordered: A quart of their meat chili. Fixins on the side. $33

I love this place! Just drove up from San Francisco, where I heard about it. I think this is my new Seattle office. Great original chili, super generous portions, great flavour, and no fear of more peppers if you want to spice it up. I had the all meat chili and the hand pressed deluxe burger. A perfect pairing with the Men's Room IPA. I'll work my way across all the other local tap offerings as I get through the other menu items. The menu has lots to explore. I wish I could have moved it to Niagara Falls for the Bikes and Barrels opening night feast. Only one person knows the chili recipe... not even grandma knows it all. Be aware... they like cash. They charge a fee for cards, so hit your favorite atm on the way here.

Couldn’t even leave a review for the food because I never got served. When we came in the restaurant, I was greeted by a lady with blonde hair no brown hair who acted extremely rude, looked at me twice and gave me a really bad look when passing by to use the restroom or take a look at the patio. when I stepped outside she yelled throughout the whole restarting ā€œDo you need help with something?ā€ W I said I’m just gonna go take a look outside…? Would you like a water and i replied with ā€œyesā€ and then when I came inside my friend was asking about if I wanted a Coca Cola and I said ā€œyes.ā€ We sat down for over 20 minutes and I was never served a drink or asked to take an order.

I was honesty thinking about giving this place one star due to one of their bartenders but honestly the chilly was delicious and everyone else there was very nice. This particular bartender however was unapologetically rude to me. My girlfriend and i came in for our first and last time and sat at the bar. He didn't so much as look or say a word to me as he came up and asked my girlfriend what she would like. He took her order and immediately turned around as i started to tell him what i wanted. I thought maybe he made and honest mistake or didn't hear me so i politely asked him if he could help me out. His back was turned and he acted like he didn't hear me even though i was a couple feet away. Keep in mind that I was sober and just there for lunch and one drink. it's not like he was having to deal with a drunk jerk or anything of that sort.

I decided to ask the other bartender to help me. I was very confused at the whole situation. I brushed it off and we got our food and drinks and that's where it got worse. As i was talking to my girlfriend, the other employees and who i think might have been the owner he kept intersecting with very blatantly rude comments about literally anything i said. It was so bad I almost think he thought i was someone else that he didn't like. I was really confused. He was so insulting that if my girlfriend hadn't of gotten me out of there i wouldn't have been able to keep my temper. (And I'm not that kind of person)

I'm sorry Mike's but that guy has got to go. That was by far the worst customer service experience i have ever had. The chilly is the only reason you didn't...

While my fiancee was being taken care of at a near by urgent care, I decided to take a walk and find food/drink.

Now, let's start with the fact that this place has been here donkey ears. I mean ages. I recall visiting here in the late 90s a few times when I lived closer. But that's the late 90s and I honestly don't recall much of that time period.

However, I stopped in to kill time, get some amazing chilli and a drink or two.

Not only was the chili as amazing as I remember it being, the staff were incredibly friendly, despite the fact I didn't realize they were closing soon. When I did FINALLY realize it, they made sure to tell me that I wasn't being rushed out.

Seriously, the bartender lady, the guy who was making the food and the two other people in there right before closing were absolutely nothing but accommodating and friendly. Seriously, if they were a late night bar, I'd probably be back more often. Just my work hours and where I live make it difficult to spend more time there. But that's not going to stop me when I have a day off.

Seriously, if you like chili or anything with chili on it, good servers and such, do not pass this place up. I know I'm definitely returning as...

We wanted to try this place, so we some friends who loves chili. Female waitress was down right rude from the moment we walked in the door. The guy (cook ?) was very pleasant and helpful. Chili could have been heated up to where the bowl was hot. It was greasy and not very tasty. Us ladies ordered a hamburger, the meat was smaller then a McDonald's hamburger, bun was soggy and fell apart after the first bite. I got a knife and fork to finish eating the hamburger. The establishment was cool, we like old places, Mike's has been around since 1922. Parking was great and we didn't have to pay for parking. Waittress needs some personable skills, how to treat customers when they come in to your place of business. Act like you are glad we are walking through your doors to spend our cash. Only accepts cash! Bathrooms need lots of updates. In today's world who uses a cup of water to put in a urinal to flush and has a bucket under the pipe to catch the water? Not good. Probably won't be going back, but now we can say we tried it. Everyone's taste is so different. Try it, you...
