I'm not a true, true vegan--I don't eat that way 100% of the time. I am trying to transition that way though and currently eat that way MOST of the time. I actually really love a lot of vegan food and wish prepared convenience foods were more readily available in society. Next Level Burger, I think, brings us to "the next level" of making that happen mainstream. Even though it's fast food, it's the first fully vegan restaurant I've ever been to and it was really amazing to see the concept of fully vegan, American convenience food (fast food) delivered on so well. I had a signature burger and tater tots, as well as a little bit of the cookie dough shake (they handed out free samples of it while I was in line for the grand opening). All were REALLY good. The tater tots were a much different taste than I've ever had at any other fast food joint or restaurant (the spices were great!), and the signature burger as FANTASTIC. It's hard to go to a restaurant and find a vegan entree that isn't fully reliant on a "fake meat" patty like an Impossible or Beyond burger (though they do serve Beyond burgers if that's your thing!). The "signature" is a quinoa-based patty with other stuff, and it's pretty amazing. They also have salads and chick'n options that I'm eager to try the next time I'm in town. I drove an hour and fifteen minutes for the grand opening--so while I likely won't be that direction again soon, I'll definitely swing by when I'm in the area and plan to occasionally make special...
Read moreThis place is new so maybe they're still working out the kinks but it definitely felt like a vegan meal versus a good meal.
This meal tasted like it was prepared by someone who just became a vegan but doesn't actually know how to cook vegan food right yet. The blue bbq burger was fine but not satisfying. The sprouted grain bun tasted like it was supposed to be healthy not like it was supposed to be good. The quinoa mushroom patty felt like it had been defrosted versus grilled. The coconut coffee shake was plain bad. It tasted like a protein shake, not a dessert. The Cobb salad was good but there was no vegan version of blue cheese crumbles or eggs, two defining ingredients of a Cobb. Some pieces of the tempeh bacon were overly crispy almost to the point of hurting ones teeth. The dressing and avocado were good. The base pricing and upgrades felt too expensive for the quantity and quality. Maybe this place is five stars if you are a vegan but two stars for omnivores who have the option of getting a better vegetarian...
Read moreThis place is under new management and they have totally ruined it. The food went from a 10 to a 2.. tastes horrendous compared to a few months back. It's all mushy disgusting with half melted cheese. Not to mention the past 3 times we've had issues with our portions being half the size. Management says there's been a recent change and they are 'adjusting' portions. Okay.. you can't exactly expect people to keep frequenting your business when you now are going to be giving HALF of what you were prior. The last time I tried to get my refund I had to call back multiple times and no one would pick up the phone. The workers here are also sketch. Most of all, the management is trying to cut corners and I don't feel like it's going to work out for them. Really disappointed with their greediness.. good...
