We like MOD Pizza, and that is why we decided to walk several blocks out of the way for dinner. The pizza is delicious and that is as expected. However, we were treated with poor customer service. We were greeted with not even a smile. The server was walking the customers in front of us down the topping line and then came to take our order. My husband knew exactly what he wanted, so she got his toppings written down, but I said that I needed to go down the line. She became irritated and said, under her breath, "Jesus Christ," (I could hear her and was shocked) and she slid the two pizzas down the line. Then, it took a few minutes before the next server would ring up our order (with nobody else in line to pay).
We both have been in customer facing positions before, so we get customer service. We also understand that sometimes you just have a bad day, or it suddenly gets busy near closing and you had just cleaned up, or maybe you get called into work when you should have and the day off. But customer service 101 says that no matter the circumstance, you always appear to be in a good mood and be friendly. This particular worker made me feel like a huge inconvenience, like I was being incredibly difficult, and that we didn't matter. It's not like our bill helps fund your paycheck or anything.
Anyway, we were disappointed that the customer service negatively affected our dinner experience as it did, but werestill satisfied with the...
Read moreThe pizza is billed for its speed, thin crust, and customization. We were able to customize -- and that's good customer service. The thin crust is usually not my kind of pizza, including this time. Parts of the crust was crispy, others not... it just can't decide what to be. The cheese is fine, jist that. The red sauce I liked & probably better than most. We were able to place a custom order ... others in our party had one of the "house recipes". Both were easy to get and were enjoyable.
As far as speed? We were there during lunch hour. There was a line, which moved quickly. If I worked in the area? I'm not sure that I'd be able to dine in at the restaurant. To be fair, I suspect lots of the customers placed a to-go order.
The ambiance & atmosphere. It's sort of an industrial look with some standard chairs & tables. Some taller chairs were also available to make for a variety of sitting arrangements. One area in the restaurant's seating area seemed to be used as storage, which didn't impress me given the lunch rush.
One very bad thing for me is that it's a very loud environment! Part of it is the concrete, exposed HVAC, and streetside environment; part of it is the staff yelling names when a pizza is done. Be forewarned on this ... it is not a place where I could have a...
Read moreThis was hands down THE BEST dinner and experience we've had at Mod Pizza to date!! And we've ate Mod more times than I'll admit and have truly never had s bad experience. However THIS LOCATION and THIS MEAL took the cake for our ABSOLUTE best experience EVER!! What made it so great, besides our custom pizzas made EXACTLY as we liked, was our service from the crew on staff tonight. Nick, Paco and Tim...Y'ALL are really what made it for us. Thinking you closed at 11p (instead of 10p) and walking in at 9:55p I believe, we would've never known had we not asked. You ALL treated us like the first customers of the day, were happy to make our THREE custom pizzas (that went into the oven way after closing) but you guys were kind, sweet and didn't miss a beat with us when our overly tired, beyond starving semi delusional behinds giggled at the unintentional borderline inappropriate innuendos that seemed to keep coming out of our mouths... Ok... My mouth... I won't take my folks down with me on that one lol Bottom line with this novel is that we had the greatest experience, de-fricking-licious pizza and will ABSOFLIPPINGLUTELY be back to terrorize y'all some more again! Thank you Nick! Thank you Paco! And thank you...
