If you've never experienced a dessert that makes your taste buds sing and your heart race, it's time to visit Molly Moon. Nestled in the heart of the city, this unassuming gem boasts a menu filled with decadent treats, but there's one dessert that stands head and shoulders above the rest: the Velvet Dream.
Walking into Molly Moon feels like stepping into a world of indulgence. The air is thick with the intoxicating scent of caramel, chocolate, and freshly baked pastries. The atmosphere is cozy yet elegant, with soft lighting and plush seating that invites you to linger. But nothing can prepare you for the culinary masterpiece that is the Velvet Dream.
The Velvet Dream arrives at your table like a work of art, presented on a delicate porcelain plate, garnished with edible gold leaf and a whisper of rose petals. The dessert is an exquisite mille-feuille, each layer a testament to the artistry and passion poured into its creation.
As you take your first bite, your senses are enveloped in a symphony of flavors. The pastry is impossibly light and flaky, melting on your tongue with a delicate crispness. Beneath it lies a silky layer of vanilla bean custard, so smooth and luscious it feels like velvet against your palate. The custard is infused with a hint of bourbon, adding a warm depth that spreads through your senses like a gentle caress.
Hidden within the layers of pastry and custard are fresh raspberries, their tart sweetness a perfect counterpoint to the richness of the cream. Each bite is a revelation, a harmonious blend of flavors and textures that leaves you savoring every moment.
The Velvet Dream is more than a dessert; it's an experience. It's the kind of treat that makes you close your eyes and relish every bite, letting the flavors unfold slowly and luxuriously. You find yourself slowing down, letting each bite linger, appreciating the craftsmanship and the sheer joy of such a perfect creation.
By the time you finish, you're left in a state of blissful satisfaction, a warm glow spreading through you. The Velvet Dream isn't just a dessert; it's a celebration of indulgence, a reminder that the sweetest moments in life are the ones you savor the most.
Molly Moon has many delights, but the Velvet Dream is the one that will linger in your memory long after the last bite. So go ahead, indulge yourself. Let the Velvet Dream take you on a journey of pure,...
Read moreSalted caramel. You NEED salted caramel. I've been here SO many times. BUY gift cards at Costco for 20 percent off. This ice cream is very pricey but saving 20 percent at Costco helps. Also, they don't allow tips--i LOVE that! Salt and straw EXPECTS tips...can't stand it. AND, MM doesn't charge for half scoops like getting 2 flavors in one scoop. can you believe salt and straw charges, sheesh. Anyway, it's true that some MM scoopers are more generous than others. I admit, one time the smaller scooper was helping me and I said I had to get something so I could leave the store and come back and be helped by a more generous or less stingy scooper. Yes--i've been here THAT many times that I know these things. ALSO, they don't tell you unless you ask, but whip cream is free and sprinkles are free. and trust me their sprinkles are the BEST! Don't pay 10 dollars for a jar of sprinkles, just ask for a side of them. I love them so much with any and every flavor. I like U village best because parking is free and U Village is so pretty and such a nice mall to walk around in. Try EVERY flavor and take your time. YOU are the customer and remember this ice cream is $$$$$ SO don’t feel bad for taking your time deciding. FYI,the flavors here are so much better than Salt and straws weird modern flavors. Oh and this is major--it bothers me the Salt and Straw ships their ice cream from Portland, yet MM makes the ice cream in almost every single scoop shop. The day MM starts producing their ice cream in a factory like Top Pots Donuts now does will be a sad day and it might change my admiration for MM right now, so MM if you're reading this...please don't stop making ice cream at each shop, it makes SUCH a difference and having culinary experience myself, that's so important for the community to have legit culinary jobs making scratch made and high quality, delicious food. One more thing--MM is SUPER liberal/democratic. Obviously most of Seattle is, but just saying that in case you're wondering why the workers are wearing buttons with pronouns on them. One more thing--the waffle cones are SO good. Try honey and lavendar...it grows on you. OH, and I almost forgot. Not sure why EVERY worker says their fave is YETI? like, it's good, but YETI isn't like the bomb that makes me want MM... If you ask me, it's the salted caramel, strawberry, sweet cream, melted chocolate, anyway, just TRY them all, and buy COSTCO MM...
Read moreYes, Molly Moon's is another addition to the uber-hip, high priced boutique sweets scene, but they do it oh so well and without the pretense of some other genre-matched shops in the great PNW. You get what you pay for - if you want a dollar cone, head to DQ. We did have to wait in line, for about 5 minutes. I've waited longer to buy a movie ticket, so just make sure your instafacesnaps are plenty entertaining and you'll be fine, because awaiting you is a fantastically delicious exploration of flavor. That smell? Give into the enticement and get a waffle cone. You won't be sorry. The very friendly and welcoming staff are full of recommendations for flavor profiles, and don't be afraid to sample. They have a nice spread of always flavors and a little mix of seasonal, along with a unique selection of delicious toppings. The ingredients are quality and the execution artful. The scoops are large, and you can split a single scoop which gives you plenty of ice cream and the option for two flavors. I had the Earl Grey and the Honey Lavender topped with lemon curd, and...well, just writing this now I'm half-tempted to make the 3.5 hour drive back just for another cone. Great location, lots of outdoor seating options throughout the mall, and definitely...
