Ruby — Restaurant in Seattle

A friend told me they read about this place so I checked it out with some friends. From the moment we walked in we were warmly greeted by the couple staff members working that night (maybe not a big deal to you, but for me - in this city where service industry folks barely acknowledge your existence when you walk into their business - I appreciate that).

We ordered just about every food item on the menu to share. It's very typical bar food but we liked it. Its small, cozy, intimate .. and the vibes just felt better here than many other Greenwood bars I visit. The cocktails were good and the service was stellar throughout. The bartender (who I think may have also been the owner) was super on top of things and even spent time explaining mocktails he could make for a friend who was just drinking water. My friend didn't even tell him he was sober, he just picked up on it and tried to accommodate him which I thought was really great service.

Came here for my birthday. Upon entering, odd atmosphere. Cute bar but the bartender was no very welcoming, quite sassy and honestly made the experience subpar.

I came to meet friends whom surprised me, but as I sat down, they immediately began venting about the bartender; Not a great first impression. Just discovered this place and it is a perfect little hideaway for a great cocktail. I had a sip of the garden party and it was delicious. I was happier that they could make my favorite: French 75. The bartender with the chunky glasses and long hair made a fantastic one and I will definitely come back here again!
