Let me start off by saying that I miss Mama's Mexican kitchen. I loved Mama's. Worked there for a few months when I was younger. They closed a few years ago. Now Seattle is a virtual desert for standard Mexican food. Fortunately, we have Taqueria Tequila. This place is excellent! Any restaurant that can produce food to go that's as good as it would be if you ate it in house deserves kudos. I have to get on the freeway to get to Taqueria Tequila, but it is absolutely worth it! Even more so because their prices are absolutely reasonable.
I've had the enchiladas suizas several times. They are flawless. The Verde sauce is as good as any I've had, the chicken is tender, juicy. All wrapped up in a nice corn tortilla. It's a Mexican symphony. The refried beans are also as good as any I've ever had. I really shouldn't get food from there, because I always end up eating too much.
The chips and salsa are quite tasty. My wife loves their guacamole which is also perfect. My wife also loves the chicken tacos which she typically gets every time. Nice to have a place with good hard or soft shell tacos.
One of the main reasons I eat too much is because my son always gets a chicken quesadilla. I absolutely cannot stay out of it. It has something to do with the way they prepare their chicken. It's juicy, flavorful and the combination of chicken cheese and flour tortilla is fabulous - even if you're using poorly prepared chicken.
Lastly, every time I've been there the people at the counter have been so nice. Always greeted with a smile. Always treated like a customer. So refreshing in a world that has forgotten what customer service and hospitality...
Read moreMy husband and I tried this place for lunch after reading good reviews. The location does a high volume of take away so there is a lot of people coming and going. We opted for the experience of sitting inside. Walk right up to counter as they don't come to table for taking orders. The food was fresh and plentiful. I had a combo chicken burrito and chimichanga with rice no beans (they offer refried or for extra fee ask for black beans). Both filled with lots of shredded chicken that appeared to be mostly white meat. I added white onions and cilantro. The one problem I had with this dish was flavor. Nothing to distinguish the two items other than one fried. Stephen had shrimp enchiladas with refried beans no rice. He thought his food had plenty of shrimp, but disappointed in flavor and felt that refried beans didn't seem homemade. Also, it would be nice if they offered salsa and chips for table service patrons. Pricing on higher end compared to similar style lunch restaurants around Seattle. Total for two combos no drinks (just water)...
Read moreI've ordered food here several times and I specifically told him I'm on a fast I only eat steak and eggs she's charged me for two individual meals you brought the meals out twice first meal had steak eggs and sauce all over it I told him I did not I only want steak and eggs specifically 15 times she came out again with salt and peppers all over my steak and eggs which if I wanted this I specifically could have done it also it looks like she have washed the eggs down as he got all soggy I reckon she washed the sauce off my eggs and reheated them I will never eat here again and I do not recommend a service to anyone as the same mentally slow it was almost $40 for two eggs add steak that wooden way 2 and 1/2 oz it was horrendous be careful as she washed the sauce off my eggs if she did not offer this service she should have not taken my money and wasted my time several times and you should never wash someone's eggs as it would be really un hygienic to reheat them several times...
