I came away from Shwarma Prince sincerely impressed with the food, service, and atmosphere as well as a happy and full belly.
City planners often classify a property in regards to it's "Highest and Best Use" and in this case, the converted Subway spot into the Shwarma Prince Restaurant is certainly the epitome of highest and best use. Don't let the over-abundance of signage scare you away, this little intimate place is impeccably clean and friendly.
You find all the staples of eastern Mediterranean food on the menu, plus some American add-ins like "franch fries". The food is visibly fresh. The salad and sandwich veggies are are stored in a repurposed Subway display cooler. Hot items like falafel and rice are cooked along the back wall but undeniably, the centerpiece of the place are the two rotisseries hosting the warm gyro meat.
The service was friendly, helpful, but not impatient. The man behind the counter (perhaps the owner) fielded all my questions with ease. You could tell he took pride in his place and his products.
Upon receiving my meal, I was taken aback at the generosity. After a few bites, I was glad there was so much extra so I could enjoy it...
Read moreGolden Olive in lower Queen Anne is much better flavor and lot cheaper. This place is pricier than any other gyro places near by. I don’t pay $18 for a plate of chicken gyro. I could get a sumptuous chicken biryani for that price which I can eat for 2 times. Person assumed that I would take the sez bread but instead I wanted my sandwich on pita bread. He didn’t ask. Thank god I saw before he started assembling my sandwich. I asked him to make it spicy but it was still mild (not even medium) and in the end was still charging me for sez bread…good that I saw he is charging me more and made him correct it before I paid. Not sure if that was slick trick or genuine mistake. But it felt pricer than other gyro places I eat at …for the same quantity and taste (if not this had less taste and flavor) .
Just because you are in Seattle (Ballard actually) doesn’t mean you are allowed to cheat and loot localities. Ohhh this place is not even Seattle…it’s a roadside shop in Ballard which used to be Subway shop before. I will be interested how long will this business run with high price and mediocre...
Read moreWhat a waste of time grabbing a food from here. No taste, cold and specially the service unprofessional. No chance of coming back here.
And yeah since you mention about 5 minute wait when the costumer calls in for to go order you tell the costumer the food will ready in 7 minutes and when the costumer shows up after 15 minutes he sees they haven’t even start making the order of course he will be frustrated. For one small order it took 25 minutes. There is a reason the costumer call over the phone so they can save there time. I don’t mind you can take another 30 minutes but you should tell the customer atleast 20 to 25 minutes instead of 7 minutes. When it comes to your food no taste at all like I mentioned. This wasn’t the first time I tried food from here. Like you mentioned we hope we don’t see you here again. who even wants to come there in future?? If I wasn’t grabbing food for a friend there was no chance I wouldn’t have ordered here. Had to throw your food away it was that bad. And yeah...
