I love this spot. Very convenient on the way out. Great food great drinks and GREAT SERVICE!!…. I read some of the negative posts on here and seriously I feel you are treating the place for change, getting out of the rain and a water break. This is a business not a bank, not a drinking fountain and clearly not a place to just get out of the rain. There are signs on the front near the entrance of door that are clear to read regarding animals and to go orders, I think there’s another one inside for to go ? I’m in healthcare and there should not be any animals in a place where food is made especially a small business like this one. Also, Have some respect, for a small business too. Visited again here ordered Pineapple Express a bagel and a bagel sandwich. Great food yet again. I read the new reviews and I don’t understand the negative comments but that you seem to not address owner in person that your order was incorrect but you wait to complain online. I wasn’t there in these situations but you seem to be the unpleasant one and high maintenance. And the ones who comment and have not yet been there that’s not right. If you judge someone by what someone else has said without experience then you’re just a follower. I’ve never had issues and the owner has been nothing but respects towards myself and my children. I came another time with my friend and she was so amazed by the food and service. BE KIND BE KIND BE KIND. Prices are high EVERY WHERE and most if not all her food and drinks are freshly made!!! Coffee is organic too....
Read moreNo unwinding here...I do not recommend this shop, as I believe their approach to community service falls far short of what should be expected from a neighborhood business.
My husband and I were on a bike ride—a route we take often—and decided to stop in for lunch, our first visit to this location. I was experiencing a sudden drop in blood sugar and needed something quickly. The shop has a bar area, but due to the heat, we chose to eat on a bench outside.
After finishing our meal, my husband went inside to dispose of our small paper bag of food waste—trash that came directly from the meal we had just purchased. To our surprise, the woman inside refused to accept it. She claimed the shop is “to-go only” and told him there are “garbage cans all up and down Alki” where we could take it instead.
This response was disappointing. We didn’t bring in outside trash. We purchased food from her establishment and were simply trying to throw away the small amount of waste it created. (We were also decked out in cycling attire, so there was no mistaking we were cyclists who just bought food here. Especially as there was only 2 other people who bought anything during the same time frame.) Refusing to accept responsibility for the disposal of your own to-go packaging—and then directing customers to use public bins for it—shows a lack of regard for both patrons and the surrounding community.
We won’t be returning, and I believe businesses that take this kind of approach are not good stewards of the neighborhoods...
Read moreI wish I could give this place more stars but my experience wasn’t great. After renting Kayaks across the street, my friend and I decided to stop in for some coffee. The lady who was working was outside talking with a customer/man/friend, idk. After we walked in, she walked in shorty after and went behind the counter. At this point she did not greet us or say anything. After a few seconds I said hello for acknowledgement. She said “I will be with you in a minute”
I ordered a medium cold coffee and my friend ordered a smoothie. After paying she told us we could wait outside and she would bring it to us. When she brought of my coffee it was a small, when I ordered a medium. Overall I just wanted to leave so I didn’t say anything.
The coffee wasn’t great and the service was slightly uncomfortable. There was no “hello how are you” or anything that made us feel welcomed. She made us feel like we were a burden and were ruining her conversation...
