Not sure where to start!
We stayed 4 nights at the hotel to enjoy Sedona. We had a suite, and a connecting queen. The rooms were nice, & our housekeeping was very good. We figured the dining had to be decent!
WRONG -- We went to dinner early as we have little kids. Immediately things started poorly; we got sat in the most uncomfortable chairs I've ever sat in, at a restaurant. Unbelievably bad. Our waiter even told us he requested to management to buy new chairs as it was such a common complaint among patrons.
It got a little chilly so they tried to use a space heater that was allocated for each table. unfortunately, nobody in the restaurant bothers to check the propane levels on these heaters. Our heater went out multiple times during the dinner, and our poor waiter had to keep turning it back on. He said this was also an ongoing problem.
The food prices were the most expensive of anywhere that we ate during our stay in Sedona.
We had two orders of ribs, which were both terrible. The sauce taste like ketchup. My wife had an anemic looking salad. Our little girl had a grilled cheese, which was terrible. The only thing that was decent were chicken tenders that our son ordered.
This was our most expensive dinner bill of the trip. It was by far the worst quality of food we had in Sedona, worst presentation, and most disappointing dining experience as a whole. I am shocked that this restaurant is still in business.... I guess captive audience works... When we checked out, we were given $100 credit towards this bill. Our dinner bill with tip was $250 for 3 adults and 3 kids.
do not waste your time/money eating here!! There are lots of great options to eat at in Sedona, where you will have a much...
Read moreThe best part about the restaurant is the atmosphere. Normally, I post pictures of food but this restaurant did not give me the opportunity. We went here twice during our stay. The first night we decided to have drinks and dessert here for the ambiance by the fire. I had to ask 4 separate times to be served. After about 40 minutes we finally got an order in for drinks. When they arrived they were not good…at all. My husband stomached his and I sent mine back. We left with no dessert because the waiter took another 30 minutes to come back. We also went for breakfast two days later. We ate the buffet, $26 a person for eggs, sausage, pancakes and fruit. Also, the host that sat us was rude and didn’t even care to seat us. My son was trying to talk to him and he kept ignoring him. It was to the point to where I pointed it out to the host and he ignored me too. Also, when we were sat at the table it only had two sets of utensils and I told the host that there were three of us. I asked him for another set of utensils and coffee mug. He ignored me and walked off. We asked three (more) different employees for utensils and finally got someone to bring one to us…mind you, this took 20 minutes. I had to ask for water numerous times and the waiter would only stop by about every 25 min or so. Additionally, I wanted to order a mimosa, but since the waiter was hardly present my husband went to the bar to order it. As soon as he got the bartender’s attention, he told my husband he had to step away….yeah, he didn’t come back. All I can say is felt like I literally burned $75 dollars this morning by paying...
Read moreThe entrées were excellent, the desert was mediocre, and the service was uncaring. First, the entrées. Every single dish was a unique experience. My favorite was the pork chop. Get it 'medium' for the best experience. It was cooked to perfection. It say on a bed of the mashed sweet potatos and vegetables that was excellent. At $46, it was well worth. My companions has the Salmon, Mahi Mahi and the chicken mole. All were good, but I thought the Mahi Mahi needed a sauce; it was a bit dry. Dessert was disappointing. It was just cakes. And it did not taste like it was made in the kitchen either. Gluten free chocolate is available, but it is a generic flour less cake that does not live up to the standards of a $$$ restaurant. And coffee? Served in a paper Starbucks cup. Again, not what they should be serving in a $$$ restaurant.
The service did not meet the standards of a $$ restaurant, let alone $$$. The maitre de was a pair of college age kids who did not even bother to smile. The server had the mannerisms of a truck stop waitress. And that last bit is no exaggeration. She got the job done well enough, but there was no greeting, rough mannerism and a general lack of refinement. All fine at a regular restaurant, but NOT the kind of service you expect at a restaurant that charges $46 for a pork chop.
So go for the food. Skip the dessert. And judge the service with your tip. They need...
