Me and my family went to Dennyâs today to grab some breakfast, understandably my mom lives in Smithfield where hurricane Florence didnât hit us as hard. Me and my husband evacuated our apartment and my brother and his girlfriend and children evacuated their house to my mothers house. Weâve been away from our house for a good amount of days now. When we went to Dennyâs we waited about 30 minutes to be seated, which is understandably considering the condition. When I told the manager how many people were going to be seated (8 people) he rolled his eyes at us and made a really rude face. Regardless I understood where he was coming from people of everything going on. Although it did not make me feel welcome at all. It made us feel like a disturbance. Like we were ruining his day. We were sat down our party of 8 separated because there werenât enough tables but we were seated side by side. As the waitress took our order we noticed she didnât have a pad to remember our order and to no ones surprise she got some of our order wrong. As theyâre bring out our food (we have a newborn baby that was in a car seat) theyâre reaching over him handing us everything. There was no precaution that a hot plate couldâve fallen on him and in fact some food scraps did fall on him due to the people that were giving us some food. As weâre leaving my husband is indeed military and the person that checked us out said âoh youâre military I wish yâall wouldve told us.â We were never offered anything until my card was already swiped. Not that we expected anything but it wouldve been nice to know. But overall it was disastisfying experience. So dissatisfying that I have to make an actual complaint. I really hope the people at this location get...
Read moreMy family and I have been going to the Dennyâs in Selma for several years now. Weâve always loved it and the food is great, especially the nachos. However, we just walked through the doors for the first time since COVID started. We do not wear masks. Personal preference. We stood there for 5 minutes waiting to be seated and hear one of the waitresses mumble to another waitress âthey donât have masks onâ, while a few of them were wearing their masks incorrectly (under their nose). No one sitting down in the restaurant had a mask on because itâs a restaurant, youâre there to eat and will literally keep your mask on long enough to be seated. There also is no sign on the door saying masks are required. One of the waitresses approaches us and smartly says âdo you have face coverings? You have to have one or we canât serve youâ. We walk out and go somewhere else because there are other restaurants that will respect your personal preference and will serve you regardless. We used to think Dennyâs was great but we will not be back. (I should mention that it was not my dadâs first time being in there since COVID. But he has never been told he couldnât go in...
Read moreThis Denny's has been amazing to us. We normally get breakfast which is absolutely delicious! Staff are always friendly, clean and the atmosphere is very relaxing and comfy. Reminds me of the local diners in NY.
We were excited that they're now open 24 hours because my spouse and I prefer less crowded hours.
This Evening we wanted to try something different. We were not disappointed!
Our waiter, Brandy was laid back and friendly. She memorized our order without a pen and pad, okay! I can't even do that, lol. She refilled our drinks ( 2 waters) multiple times. She is great!
My spouse had the double cheeseburger added bacon with regular fries.
I had the bourbon burger with regular fries. I decided to try the vegan patty ( $2.00 extra for replacement). We both ordered strawberry milkshakes.
LISTEN! The meals and milkshakes da bomb.com! Our burgers were juicy, packed with flavors. The vegan patty is chef's kiss awesome. The strawberry milkshakes were excellent! Not overpowering with sweetness.
Whoever made our meals and milkshakes, please thank them for us!
We are beyond grateful and spoiled at this Denny's. The meals hit the...
