Five Guys — Restaurant in Shallotte

Been here multiple times; every time my experience has been more than pleasant. Great staff, most of which are all still learning it looks like but overall I’ve received nothing but great food and customer service from this place. I’ll gladly pay $15 for a burger and drink that beats everything around here locally; and it be filling. Thank you guys!

Edit: updating my review; and stand by my first one. I’m a weekly sometime 2x a week customer in this building, the service and quality of food I get from this place exceeds anything else chain run locally and I hope upper management/ownership acknowledges their staff about how well this place is being ran. Thank you for always providing a great meal

I’ve come back, a 3rd time to leave a review here, these guys really are great. A year plus they’re been in this location maintaining high scores on health inspections, my food is always consistent, and I’m a weekly to sometimes multiple times a week customer. It’s really a shame to see this place is being rated as low as it is because it’s a step above literally anyone else locally. If you can’t read the menu or even ask questions before ordering, please don’t take it out on the staff or business. For a place that serves a high quality burger the size that it is, a burger and drink usually more than enough for a meal. The staff is always friendly here and fun to chat with when they’re not too busy. You pay for quality. It’s ground sirloin/chuck, not some generic beef on sale from the local grocer.

If you’re not a big eater order the “little” burger instead of the 1/3-1/2 lb “hamburger/cheeseburger”, there’s your cost...

This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had in my life. I ordered on the Five Guys website for pickup, alerted them via the website when I was on the way and when I was there. I was not greeted or even acknowledged as I walked in. Customers should never be left to stand awkwardly at a pick up window, especially while 3 employees chatted behind the counter, one working on my mobile order (I could only assume he was as no one let me know) After standing around a couple minutes I was handed my order by the young man who made it, he was nice enough when I asked for my drink cups which had been left out. I then approached the order counter to ask for a drink tray, and after all of this was only really given looks, although the employees did quickly refill the sweet tea when I informed them it was out and I had a large pickup order with drinks. After this I had my order completed, and two female employees where whispering and making faces behind the counter, not to say this had anything to do with me but regardless this appears very unprofessional and gives indoor pickup and dining a terrible atmosphere. I have been to this location before and greeted with a "hello," or "welcome in"', nothing like this time. The food is just okay. I've written this review on Wednesday, July 10th, at 5:55, picked up my order between 4 and this time. I can say I will not be coming back to this location. I recently visited Five Guys with high expectations, but unfortunately, the overall dining experience left much to be desired. The first disappointment came with the food's taste; the burgers were greasy and lacked the flavorful punch I was hoping for. And my burger was slightly pink. The fries were equally underwhelming, as they were overly salty and lacked the crispy texture I associate with a good fry. Beyond the taste, the service was also lacking. The wait time was surprisingly long for fast-food, and the staff appeared disinterested and unengaging, failing to deliver the friendly service I had heard about from others. Additionally, the pricing left me feeling unsatisfied. While the menu boasts fresh ingredients, the cost seemed disproportionate to the quality of the food and service received. I had hoped for a more enjoyable experience given the higher prices. Lastly, the ambiance of the restaurant was loud and crowded, making it challenging to hold a conversation with my dining companions. Overall, my visit to Five Guys was underwhelming, and I am hesitant to return given the disappointing food, lackluster service, and the relatively high cost.
