Braum's Ice Cream & Dairy Store — Restaurant in Shawnee

I'm not very familiar with the other two Braum's here in Shawnee, America, but i do know that the staff at every Braum's I've been to ever - in the history of ever - has been first class. This Braum's is the exception to that because they exceed first class. If i had to pick a fast food chain that had the best overall staff, the Braum's chain would be top dog, but this store has their its own spot above that and they sit there alone. I've been to many Braum's throughout Oklahoma, but never have i had the opportunity to frequent a store like i have this one. I ride a bike everywhere and I have a Braum's about blocks from where I live and I make the 2mile ride to go to this store nearly every day. That's not saying the other 2 stores are bad, because, like i said, the staff at every Braum's have been outstanding and I've been to many, but my making the ride to this store is a testament to the staff as they raise the bar on what customer service and friendliness mean...and they don't even go out of their way to do it - it comes natural for them. It is impressive that they have that many genuinely good people working for them when one would be hard pressed to find one or two even using the science behind 6 degrees of separation.

I used to work for Mr. Braum's through a company that had a contract with the Braum's corporation. We remodeled houses on the properties Mr. Braum's owns throughout Oklahoma. These houses were for veterinarians he'd hire to keep his cattle in top shape. I met him a couple times and one would be hard pressed to find a kinder gentleman. He'd stop by places we were working and talk to not only the owner of the company I worked for, but even those doing the grunt work like myself. And, being self-made himself, he's not afraid to shake hands with those whose hands were dirty. He pointed out a few tips to me on using certain tools that made my work a lot easier. That type of kindness and helpfulness shows through people that work for him in his many stores and he's likely not met even a fraction of those employees. When a person can effect that many people in a positive way with never meeting them, you know he's doing something right and doing right comes natural to him and he does it so well. I try to do right by everyone, but to reach his level of right i have to make three lefts to get there.

And one other thing before I cork it. If you're still with me and you like Braum's brand of soda, this is a important note you should take: this is the only Braum's in Shawnee that refrigerate their soda and it's very cold. And it's only $1.09 after tax for a 2liter. While I think their lemon lime leaves a lot to be desired, the other flavors are better than the bigger named distributors of soda:

Cola is my fave as it tastes more like RC than Coke or Pepsi.

Special which is a cross between Mr. Pibb and Dr. Pepper which is almost as awesome.

Root Beer that rivals IBC.

Orange which is the best orange since Nehi.

Lemon Lime which, in my opinion is just slightly above tonic water...straight. I'm not a fan.

I travel for work in one of our clinics is in Shawnee I have stopped here numerous times to get ice cream on the way home. About a month ago, I stopped for a scoop of ice cream in a cup and A liemade, the girl at the window when I picked up my order was extremely rude and my order was completely wrong. She handed me an ice cream in a cone and I told her that it was supposed to be in a cup She proceeded to stick my ice cream in a cone upside down into a cup and handed it to me. My limeaide was also a cherry lime aid She offered no apologies for messing up my order. when we left I called and spoke to a manager who informed me that my name would be added to a book so that I could get the same order the next time we're in town for free. Today I went to said Brahms to get the same order and when I informed them that I was told that my name was in a book to get my order for free they told me they couldn't find it. When they finally came back they told me that they were instructed that the order was fixed to the day of the problem.

Very disappointed in the service I received both times I went to this Brahms and in the fact that they wouldn't let me have $3.20 worth of food that they had already prepared for me today because supposedly the order was fixed the day of the problem when I called from the highway headed back home! Won't be returning to...

The food was delicious! But the service was not so good. I ordered a double meat green chile cheeseburger combination with a large fries and a large drink. But instead of the large soda, I ordered a large chocolate shake. The charge was $15.47! I was waiting for my order, looking at my receipt I noticed that I was charged the flat rate or price of the large chocolate shake $4.69 + the price of the combo meal of $9.44=$14.13! I questioned the young lady about my order and was wondering why I didn't get a pro-rated price, since I was ordering the combo meal with a large soda, but instead of the large soda I had requested a large chocolate shake instead? And she acted like it was a great bother to her. She looked at my receipt and said abruptly "I'll just REFUND you the price of the soda, $2.19. And I am now questioning my future visits to the Braum's #225. I mean I was expecting a somewhat more polite response to my questions and a little bit of a discount or lower price since I had already ordered the large combo meal w/large fries and large drink. But wanted to substitute a large chocolate shake instead of the large soda. The employee made it look like I was causing a great problem and a unnecessary issue with my request for a discount or lower price for my order. The meal was excellent, but the service was most...
