I've been coming to this Main Event for YEARS now.
I love it and I'll keep coming back.
The staff you meet when you walk in are AMAZING. I'm convinced these folks are all former Chick-fil-A employees.. That or Main Event is doing their darndest to outdo them in the customer service race lol
Sydney, JT, and Arthur are a few front desk employees I had the good fortune of being served by tonight and lemme tell you, they're wonderful. It's actually difficult to pick a favorite and I gave them a pretty dang difficult and, likely, tedious task but they tackled it with genuine smiles and great attitudes. I really appreciated them tonight and it meant a lot that they did their very best to try and help me.
Tbh, speaking with Sydney is what prompted me to write this. Her sincerity and smile made me feel like my wants/needs were important and cared about. Thank you, Sydney! (And the rest of you, y'all are awesome 😎)
I usually try to come on a Monday every here and there when they have an "All You Can Play" deal for $11.99 (prize pts aren't awarded) from 4pm to close but hey, it's all you can play games OR activities!!
When you DO want to win prizes, coming on another day isn't too bad on the wallet when it comes to credits/activities and if you have small-smallish(12yo) children, come on a Tuesday because if you buy yourself a meal more than $8.99, the kiddos eat free, all day, and we all know how kids are lol
Speaking of the food, it's actually pretty dang alright. In regards to flavor, my kids LOVE the pizza and I very much enjoyed the chicken tenders and fries when I had them. As I said before, I've been coming here for years. I've never had anything that wasn't cooked perfectly. I know it's probably all previously frozen (who actually cares at places like this, fr) but, believe it or not, a lot of places still somehow seem to screw that up but I haven't ever had that happen here! They offer a lot of the basics like fountain drinks but they also have a refrigerated area with bottled beverages as well. The bar is... A bar. Lol. Nothing remarkable about it aside from Amber, an attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable bartender I've had the pleasure of being served by. I wouldn't recommend the dirty martini (something about a new kind of olive juice? Idk, tasted like pickles or something) but other drinks seemed to be on point.
I've done the bowling (they have league nights and stuff but that's not for me), I've done the Lazer tag (I think there's a thing for that too), I've played the billiards (maybe a league for that too?), and, most of all, I've played the games. That's my thing. Ok, so when you buy a play card, actual money is converted to 'credits', and you use those credits to play the games which range anywhere between 5 to 25 credits each. Most games are around 7-9 credits each. The amount of credits you get depends on how much you spend and, like many places (and apps) the more you spend the cheaper the credits tend to become. I'll be coming back again soon so I'll post a picture of the sign with the 'cash - credits' table. Personally, if I'm here to win prize points, I'll spend $50 for 300 credits. I can get my daughter a few thousand prize points with that, bring her in on a Monday (all you can play $12), let her play her little heart out, and give her the points I won previously. The prizes here are great for individuals of all genders and ages.
Oh, and should you ever have an issue with a game, there are plenty of employees that occasionally walkthrough who are very helpful and friendly. To name two really great guys: Michael and Cain. Both are very friendly and eager to help anyone in need of maintenance or even if you simply need a game explained, they're both patient, kind individuals.
I've had so many wonderful experiences here and I look forward to countless more! Thank you, Main Event in Shenandoah! I really...
Read moreThis is based off of two birthday parties we've had at this location, both were on a Saturday at 10:30 for the brunch with 10 children end of August/beginning of September. Last year's party: communication for booking was amazing Day of the party we had two gentlemen as our party host, one was in training. Food: wonderful, top your own pancake was a hit. We requested juice and milk for the kiddos and coffee for adults. Entertainment: they set up monster bowling which the kiddos loved. They had pins set out to decorate, so the kiddos had something to do while guests arrived and waited to eat. 10 dollar playing cards were sufficient for most, but some needed to add kor funds. There was one other party at the same time, but it didn't interfere with our space. We were able to use the extra table for the adults to sit. The hosts were thoughtful and anticipated our needs. Provided cake cutting, helped moved our items for the transition, offered to get us bowling shoes. They helped us carry out supplies. They were always one step ahead. The only downside is they weren't able to print off the poster bowling like advertised.
This years party: Again, communication for booking was amazing. Food was good and the pancakes still a hit. I requested juice and milk, but our host said milk wasn't an option. He checked twice and said they didn't have it. Provided one pitcher of apple juice for 10 kids. 8 kids were able to have half of a cup of juice to drink and a refill was not offered. Entertainment: the host put a pile of the pins to be decorated on a table where we bowl and walked away. We couldn't find him for shoes, so parents were lining up at the couner to get shoes, so we had to skip decorating pins, so we had time to bowl. He finally arrived after we requested him from another staff, and he provided 3 pairs of shoes. He didn't set up monster bowling and had regular bowling. We had to find a manger to set up the kids bowling and one lane ended up only having bumpers. We had to cut bowling short, so they had time to use the arcade cards. I had to go to the front desk to request him again because we never received our arcade cards. He never provided us with the VIP pass scavenger hunt for our son, but made sure to bring a bill. It was frustrating that this time wasn't as smooth since I had our 4 month old baby with us this time. I should've requested a more experienced host. The managers went above and beyond to try to make the rest of the party better. They were very sweet, and the managers have been excellent both times we've visited. Recommendation: I recommend the brunch bowling, it's a hit with 6-8 year olds. Request an experienced host and know they stick to a strict time table. There is zero room for adults and the only seating is for children. There isn't a place to set gifts or desserts or your supplies or sit down. I brought a box each time and put everything in it and under the pancake table. There is zero space for anything on the food table except what they provide. Request an extra serving table, but know that it infringes on the other parties space. If something does go wrong request a manager because all the managers have been amazing. Do not have Bryce as your host unless you have a small party and prefer to do things yourself. He needs more training before hosting on...

I had a birthday party for 18 kids at this venue and while the place itself is enjoyable and the kids loved it, I must express my disappointment with the staff. The party went smoothly until laser tag time, after which things took a turn for the worse.
The staff combined my group of 18 kids with another group, roughly 8 kids, for laser tag. Unfortunately, they didn't have enough functioning equipment for all of them. Consequently, some of my kids missed out on playing due to faulty gear, while those who did play experienced a truncated game due to a delayed start. This situation left 8 kids without a chance to participate. When I raised my concerns, I was offered extra game time for those 8 kids. Regrettably, I couldn't identify which 8 kids had missed out, making this solution impractical.
I was then presented with two alternatives: 1) an additional 30-minute game card for each child (usable only on that day), or 2) a laser tag voucher for each child. Opting for the game cards, I soon realized that not every child could stay an extra 30 minutes. Consequently, I distributed 8 game cards to parents and informed them that they could exchange them for vouchers at the front desk. To streamline the process, I exchanged the remaining 10 game cards for vouchers myself, but this is where things took another turn for the worse.
Unbeknownst to me, the 10 vouchers I received were for laser tag, not the promised game vouchers. By the time I discovered this, almost all the kids had been picked up. When I approached the manager about this new predicament, I was provided with 10 one-hour game vouchers. Unfortunately, upon inspecting them at home, I found out they had expired three months prior. Returning to the venue, I expressed my concerns to the manager once more, who assured me that the front desk would honor the expired vouchers and offered to sign them. However, I pointed out that most customers wouldn't go through the trouble of returning with an expired voucher, and that the front desk might still reject them.
Ultimately, after some back-and-forth, the manager provided me with 10 valid game vouchers and an unexpired bowling voucher. It was at this point that the manager's attitude took a sharp and unwelcome turn. When I asked why I was initially given expired vouchers, the manager's demeanor became defensive, raising their voice and displaying rudeness.
Based on this experience, I strongly discourage others from...
