Handels Homemade Ice Cream — Restaurant in Sherwood

I was driving by and noticed the Handles Homemade Ice Cream sign and decided to stop and look at their website. I saw they had over 100 flavor choices and each one sounded like something worth trying! We decided then to go in- while in the store we then took a closer look at prices and options on size and packaging. I do have the say, if I were rating this place off of the ice cream, price, and the various sizes and wide range of ways to Enjoy their ice cream 🍦 I would rate them a big 5 stars. 🤩 Their ice cream is a silky smooth, melt in your mouth, delectable treat no matter the flavor! However, they do not having many of the flavors they have on their website, including all of the pumpkin flavors which one of them was one I wanted. They are also very busy. I saw on the website a mention of long lines, and when we got there, we were the only ones. Not one person for about 15 mins or so but the second I went to order a flood of people came through and I don't know about you all but I already have a hard time ordering but when I know other people, or in this case a lot of people are waiting on me, it puts the pressure on to hurry! Being it was my first time there I was no pro at ordering. In the craziness I even left my phone behind, drove off and had to circle back to go in and get it! All in all the experience was pleasant and I would definitely go back for more of that...

I come here often because I like the ice cream but the last 2 experiences have not been great. The 2nd to last time I came here they couldn’t figure out how much change to give me and had to get 2 different people and the last person could barely even figure it out… then this time I asked for the same thing I ALWAYS get and this time it was a problem. They told me “well there is no way you have ever gotten that here because everyone would lose their job because we would be stealing.” (In a very mean tone)… I am sorry… how is asking for a pint of ice cream half one flavor and half another flavor stealing??? And why is it an issue now when I have gotten this so many times before and it hasn’t been an issue?? Why the change now?? (I was just here less than a week ago and got the same exact thing(when they couldn’t figure out how much change to give me)) Every time I have come here the customer service is always very bad and rude. The crew working always just talks to each other and is slow and this time they were very rude and did not have good customer service. I think this was my last straw considering I can’t even get the ice cream option I normally get I don’t think I will be returning anymore. Truly upsetting considering their ice cream is...

I’m rather conflicted about our first visit to Handels. There were a lot of flavors available, that was good. 1 person in our party ordered a chocolate chip cookie dough Hurricane - they told us the Hurricane is like Dairy Queen’s Blizzard - it wasn’t. It just seemed like a cup of soft serve - no cookie dough. The workers suggested it might be at the bottom - really? Asked a couple times and we were finally given some cookie dough in a small paper cup (think ketchup cup). That made it better but I personally would prefer the blizzard. One person got the flight - a 4 scoop sampler so we could try different flavors. These are smaller scoops than their normal single, but still we felt each scoop was enough and all 4 tasted very good. The place was staffed with teenage workers, who were willing to explain and answer our questions. The prices were reasonable and the ice cream was good. I think we will be going back when we feel the need...
