We couldn’t have been more happy when we found out IHOP was going in so close to home. Today we went for our third time. Each time is the same, and we hope for something better. To say the service is terrible would be an understatement. They can no longer use the excuse that they are new. The restaurant has been open for quite some time, and every employee is just as lost as they were months ago. There’s absolutely no order in the restaurant. The hostess does not stay at the hostess stand, she is usually cleaning a table, or helping out somewhere else. But she just has people stand at the door for obnoxious amounts of time without ever acknowledging them. Once you do get seated, you’ll notice that the restaurant is nowhere near full, but for whatever reason, it takes them forever to get to you. I expect a little bit of a wait after we order food, but not each bit before and after that point. There’s a lot of waiting, and it doesn’t make sense when there’s maybe seven families in the whole restaurant. We never once got a refill today. Not a huge deal, I guess. What really made us frustrated today, was that they forgot to put in the order for our baby. After waiting 45 minutes to get our food, and then everyone at the table is served except for the only irrational one, you get a meltdown. The lady assured us they were getting the babies food up quickly. It wasn’t until someone else asked us if everything was OK that she went back and actually got the food for the baby. Our server had a rude and uninviting attitude and body language when we were not ready to order at her first check in. When requested ahead of time to split the check between two sets of four meals, she seemed inconvenienced and had a snide comment "I guess". The server never came to refill coffee or ask if we needed anything.
Our Omelettes were cold. I had asked at time of order for bacon to be added to my omelet and when it came it had none. Another server saw me looking around for help and she asked if everything was alright and I told her our issue. At that time our server came over briefly and when I told that there was no bacon she walked away and stated loudly and embarrassingly that "she would pay for it" . When our server came back to bring us the check she stated again without needing too loudly and rudely again that she had paid for the bacon (nobody needed her to pay for bacon that was never added in the first place).
I was completely appalled and dissatisfied at her level of customer service and her general attitude. I don't usually make it a point to complain or reach out if I have a bad experience, but this experience was not acceptable and our server in my opinion is hurting your business. When we got there and were seated, it took 1 hour until I had to ask a server that was not assigned to our area if she could take our order. Ashley was amazing and very apologetic, she was carrying that whole restaurant looking out for tabels that were unattendedby their server. After about another hour we were ready to leave when our food finally came and let me say that it is an understatement when I say the food was not good. There was a hair in my pancakes!!!! when we told the manager all this all he could say was "oh well..sorry our cooks are tired" What!!!??!!!! Ashley still being amazing gave us the best possible service she could. The bottom line is this restaurant was understaffed,dirty and just bad. Management should be embarrassed that a server had to step up and do their job while they were hiding in their office if I were Ashley I would leave this current job she has for a better place.
