Had to try the birria shredded beef crunchy tacos - a new addition to the menu. I ordered online: 3 birria crunchy tacos and 1 carne asada crunchy taco. When I arrived to pick up my order, they had no knowledge of it. I guess they don’t check their online orders often enough. He found the order and had it prepared ASAP. He was very nice and friendly. I live 5 minutes away and when I pulled out the birria tacos, they had already broken through and soaked the taco bottoms. They tasted good though - tasty meat, lettuce cheese and sour cream with pico de Gallo. For $2.50, it was okay. The carne asada taco was tasty as well - meat was on the cold side, but there was a small container of guacamole in the bag so I assumed it was for this taco - that was nice. Taste was good and taco shell didn’t collapse as the birria ones had. 4 crispy tacos for $10 - good deal. I had asked for salsa with my online order but I didn’t receive any nor did I receive any chips which I thought came along. Guess not with tacos?? Removed 1 star for tacos & lack of chips & salsa. The place was clean. One employee walked in without wearing a mask and went behind the counter still without a mask. Removed two stars for that. Not sure if I would return due to unsafe...
Read moreI was very angry about my experience here. The waitress asked if we wanted guacamole after she brought out complimentary chips and dip. I thought it was part of the chips and dip as the waitress never mentioned a charge of $8. When I was ordering my dish, a burrito, she asked if I wanted rice and beans. She never mentioned that there was another extra charge for this, so I thought it was part of the dish ($1.5 or $3 i forgot). Then my dad asked for extra sour cream as there was not a lot on his chimichunga and he does not normally eat a lot of sauce. The waitress brought him a tiny sauce dish of sour cream for $1.50. The extra charges tacked on over $10 to the bill! The food tasted like it was bought prepackaged and had a chemical, stale taste and the soda was flat with hardly any carbonation. I couldn't belive anybody would come here again. The staff/restaurant are predatory; especially in this economy when things are so tight! The food tasted worse than something I could microwave and was bland, bland, bland. Please beware of any upcharges they never tell you about, and the suspect quality...
Read moreSo, I will start saying, I'm used to Tex-Mex and Southwestern style Mexican food. I've had a really hard time in the past finding good Mexican outside my home state of Arizona. This place is by far, some of the best Mexican I've had in the region of the Pacific Northwest.
It's not a super fancy shop but the menu and the food was on point. I was super happy to stumble across this place. I was passing through on my way to Portland and happened to stop here, craving some flautas and guac for a quick meal, and this place didn't disappoint. Salsa was outstanding as well.
It's not the fanciest of places, but it makes up for it in flavor. I would recommend this to any Southwestern away from home or who's moved to the area. Or in general if you want a Mexican dish that ACTUALLY has spice & flavor. Most places I've been to outside Texas, NM, and AZ only are capable of one...
