Beware of shady charges. The owner added $4-5 extra on ours, hoping we won't notice. We ordered two takeout orders of #38 which on the menu is $17 each but the total came up to $42 even though it's supposed to $37.40.
#38 is the pork and spring rolls with vermicelli. We asked if we could swap one of the orders for tofu instead of pork, and the guy said yes. When i realized the total price seems a bit high, I asked for the receipt. And the guy said "no receipt". I asked if he could write it down and he reluctantly did, and he hesitated for awhile before writing down pork order $19.50, and then tofu order $22.50. I asked, why was the tofu more expensive when it's the same dish but just swap out the port for the tofu? He said, oh it's tofu + vermicelli and one order of spring rolls (ie two rolls for 6.75). So i thought ok that's' fine. Maybe he misunderstood the order. But then when the order came, the tofu vermicelli came with one spring roll, but not two. i asked him why there's only one spring roll and he said, the tofu with vermicelli is $18 and the one spring roll is $3-4. This is when i checked the menu prices and realized that the numbers don't add up. How can the tofu order be more expensive than just a regular pork + vermicelli that costs $17? Why did he initially tell me that it's the tofu + vermicelli and it's an extra order of the two spring rolls the first time i asked? How did my pork order + spring roll came up to $19.5 even if it's including tax when on the menu it's only $17? It should only be $18.70. And when i asked the guy why it's $19.50, he said, containers are expensive. The fact that he kept changing his story when the prices doesn't add up is a red flag.
It looks like there were other reviews on their shady charges as well, so it i'm not the only one. The food was good but we won't go back to support such a...
Read moreEdit to add, they are very poorly rated by the health department also. Crooked as hell. I ordered the small Pho. It was like $13 and some odd cents. They gave me a water with two pieces of fruit in the bottom of it. I asked what it was and they said lychee fruit. Interesting. Never had it before. Delicious. Finish my meal and went up to pay. The guy showed me a portable calculator not using a cash register that read $18 even. So you know he's not always paying taxes. Told me $18 even. I had already put $2 in the tip jar. I went out to my truck trying to figure out how a small Pho came to $18. I walked back in and asked. He said taxes. I said that much ? He then said and lychee fruit water $1. I said I never ordered that. He then said $2 debit card fee. I then showed him I had a $20 in my wallet and would have paid cash then. But it's still a lie because how did he already have 18 on the calculator before even knowing if I was paying with card or cash? I reached into the tip bowl and grabbed my $2 back out and turned around and walked out the store. Won't be coming back here again just because of his morals. That's too bad, the...
Read moreI pass this place every time I go to Costco and decided to give it a shot! This place is surprisingly pretty good.
First impressions: Parking was brutal. We had to park in another parking lot somewhere else in order to get here. The place was packed! There was really nothing special about the inside. There isn't too much space but luckily there was an open table for my group and I.
Advantages: The water is served with lychee which I am a big fan of. There is fish sauce on the table and they also serve tea on the side! I don't see many pho restaurants that do this. The pho broth is very good (tasted like it had more cinnamon but I am ok with that) and I did not get a hint of MSG. The spring rolls were very good and they were loaded with more meat than your typical spring roll. The peanut sauce was also on point as well.
Update: Since my original review, I have been here 3 more times. The taste of the pho has been consistent and the size of the spring rolls has also remained the same. This is a great...
