Went here last weekend to try it out after seeing the "coming soon" sign for so long.
We went in on a Saturday and there were a few small groups in front of us - waited 20 or so minutes to place our order, no problem we understood it was Lunch rush.
My wife and I both ordered a sushi burrito and I ordered the takoyaki while my wife got the side of karage. The food took another 15 minutes or so to be made, so by the time we were cashing out we had been there almost 45 minutes already. We were placing to go orders so when our buzzer went off we got our food and headed home.
Got home and discovered that the order of karage was forgotten from our bags - we checked the receipt and were charged for it, but didn't receive it. We decided to chalk it up to the two guys working being so swamped and to try and enjoy the food we did get. I tried the takoyaki, and the first one was pretty tasty, but the other 5 were all undercooked and had gooey/soft batter inside still (not the mayo, this was uncooked doug). The flavor was okay, but the texture wasn't very pleasant.
To be fair, the sushi burritos were pretty good, large portions as well. However between waiting in the restaurant for the amount of time we did, and the pretty steep prices (our bill was between $55 and $60) it really left a poor impression on us.
I'm hoping to try them again someday in the future when they will hopefully be better staffed, but until then there are cheaper, faster and better done alternatives we will...
Read moreRacist...Homophobic... I was witness to a truly disgusting experience at the Aurora Village SUSHI BURRITO store. An African-American and Asian couple, both well-dressed and from what I viewed to be courteous gentlemen, were purposely IGNORED by the male cook behind the counter. This was no mistake. This couple was at the front of the line, they said hello and started to order. This cook (an Asian guy - I've seen him there before), ignored them and instead, moved his neck to view around them and asked what the people behind them wanted to order. I was behind those people and watched and heard this. I was stunned. I whispered to my friend, "Is this Sushi Burrito or KKK Sushi?" The only thing the cook didn't say was "We don't serve 'coloreds' or 'them-types o' people here." Hey, this is Washington state and it's not the 50's. It might be commonplace for Sushi Burrito to hold cross-burnings, wear hoods and lynchings but not here in Washington. Amazingly and with grace, the ignored couple looked at each other, shook their heads and walked out, as did myself and my friend. I let everyone at my workplace, my neighborhood, my social media friends, et al, about the incident. Any business that backs this behavior should lose their license or the member of the KKK/cook should lose his job....
Read moreThis place had really good food a couple of times but today was really disappointing. I don't go out a lot so when I do I try to make it count. I ordered the custom poke bowl and when we got to the add ons I asked "are fish eggs extra?" She immediately added the eggs to my bowl and then told me "yes they're extra" which was already frustrating because I was asking so I could avoid them if they were an extra charge. I let it go assuming maybe she didn't hear but towards the end I was EXTRA specific to say yeah I want a LITTLE bit of the eel and spicy mayo but please go light being sure to specify very light on the sauce along with a gesture, however she proceeded to out on wayyyy more sauce that I've gotten even on times when I've asked for extra on the side. I tried to get some of it off later but it soaked though the seaweed salad and fully got into the dish making it taste way too saucy and overall kind of gross. I couldn't get through the whole thing and just felt really sad I wasted $20 on a shit dish. I won't...
