Lovers — Local services in Shoreline

My partner & I excitedly visited the local Lovers establishment looking for a magical bedroom toy, only to be pestered by the stores associate 😠. She loudly interrupted our initial attempt at browsing the store from behind where we were standing. After some questions, she went full "car salesman mode" on us, leading us across the store simultaneously being super dull trying to upsell more expensive items twice the price of what my partner specifically vocalized interest in. Her actions were intrusive, abrasive & unpleasantly unprofessional, urgently trying to upsell us more items the entire time, even when at the checkout. She did not give us mere minutes to converse amongst ourselves before the next sales pitch was rolling in! Unfortunately, she only looked & spoke to my partner (Caucasian F) while I stood awkwardly almost as if invisible until we spoke at checkout where I was patronized for presenting my i.d. to get my military discount. All in all, it sucked all the fun out of our trip. Definitely wouldn't recommend this specific Lovers location. Nothing Sexy...

Recently went by this location to look for a few items. While browsing, I did ask staff questions when they asked if I needed help. But, after saying “thank you” for showing to me the area I was looking for, staff kinda.. “loomed” behind me, making comments while I browsed and made me feel extremely nervous and embarrassed. Due to feeling rushed I ended up choosing an item at a price range much higher than I was actually comfortable with, with features I didn’t need, and when I got home, wasn’t even the right option for me (doesn’t fit correctly). I’m unable to return the item due to their policy and now out of a considerable amount of money.

To add insult to injury, while paying, staff made that comment that they needed someone else to look at my cash because “it’s just, a lot of money” (I wouldn't be spending that much if you hadn’t upsold me 🥴)

Really really Frustrated because I liked their selection! but I don't think...

I am not a frequent shopper of Lovers, but I will say if I ever need help, guidance, or a direction for what would improv or spicy things up in the bedroom. This store, in particular, has a fantastic employee named Thai, I am not 100% that's how they spell their name, but they were terrific!

Helpful kind knew how to make me feel comfortable and easily relatable person overall. Their knowledge is vast but honest if they have not experienced or used a product. They gave excellent advice to help with my current situation by looking for solutions and products to help resolve that.

If you are looking for a friend who can help you out in a area most don't talk about this would be consider the best friend who could not steer you wrong.
